Map Difficulty: What does it do? (if anything at all...)
So, despite being a modder, and having this game for over a decade, I still feel like a noob on some things.
For example:
What does map difficulty actually do?
And I don't mean the one you choose on the game before playing (that one has labels),
But rather the one you use on the Campaign Editor along with map name and description.
My guess is it doesn't actually *do anything* (much as in Heroes III?),
It is only there as a label for guiding players which want more or less challenge.
Am I correct?

Interesting... so it acts as a multiplier for scoring. Not bad page either, thanks.
Nothing else though?
That doesn't actuallty change anything in the game itself, and it's not like scoring system can be taken too seriously : P

I think that in fact only resources give difference between levels. In my tests I see that AI is always the same level. Maybe something else. I know where it is in code but I dont know what. You must dissambled it.

It acts as multiplier for scoring and an indicator for the maps difficulty. Player's selected difficulty is what affects neutrals size and starting resource amounts as well as AI combat options.
