Upgrade?
How bout your upgrade idea for halflings? I don't like halflings since they're slow, weak, low hp.

i think halflings are like hippies or gipsys- free and able to go anywere. I think its good they removed the halfling from a town.

I think matthy is right
Yes they are free beings... With little bellys - don't expect too much from them.
But gathered for doing something good - they can fight well.
what about adding HIPPIES and GYPSIES to H4... hehe - just a joke - at least not the gypsies that live in Bulgaria...

Long live the least interesting, most over-used, stupid-named, non-skilled creatures in homm and fantasy in general. Yeah Haflings!
Aren't you a little short to be a storm trooper? (I mean hafling).

In Tolkien's books, Halflings are sedentary people. It's unlikely they would travel at all (well, Frodo and friends were an exception) and be considered neutral beings. So I guess it makes sense to see them associated to a town. They would fit well in the Haven or, based on Migro's point about their relation with wizards, the Academy (which is going to be their town based on what we've seen so far).
I wonder if New World Computing spends so much time thinking about all the mythology behind each creature? They probably just say, "hey there's a monster missing in that town, throw some halflings..."

if you ask me...
... they fit in heroes series well - of course they´re slow, low HP etc. (at least they´re shooters) (regular upgrade is ok, not too powerful though) but that´s how they are and i think that´s how it should stay - if they´re in town i welcome this even more as long as they´re in the game (useless but inevitable ) - however this is only my opinion

I think that the haflings should be out of the game. I know that they are in Asylum, but I still don't like them. I think that Incubus is right. They should have taken them out or just made them leave altogether. That is just my opinion. Black Dragons will kill the little midgets, even if they are going to be in the town.

what's the difference what they are called?
If they are halflings, peasants, centaurs, sprites pikeman, ect whats the big deal? they are lvl 1 creatures in a fantasy wargame lol, they have a certain number of hitpoints which is most likely very close to other lvl 1 creatures, speed, attack and defense. all this over what they look like or are called is bizzare to me, I really dont care if they are blue haired emu's as long as the game is fun, has the lasting power of previous heros editions with the strategy and gameplay is enhanced as it has been with all new versions of heroes.
If the Lvl 7 creatures are devils. behemoths, scylla dragons crusaders paladins or otherwise I have the same feeling
incubus: I think you need to write a monster manual for Dungeons and Dragons, you are concerned with cool creatures......(which is ok, I used to read many D&D monster manuals)...but heroes of might and magic IV and what the GAME should evolve into. This doesnt seem to be a priority for you
