Why are the white dudes singing and African song? Like I don't necessarily mind, but I feel like the song can't reach its true potential unless sung by one of the natives.

Of course I saw that one too and was planning to post it initially, until I found the one that I linked which I thought had the better video. The lack of female vocals in both is a bit of a letdown, but I guess that can't be helped, there's always the original for that. And that guy is not a native from the countries that speak swahili, he's been in the UK and now works in the US. I like his performance better, but the video overall is less impactful.

True, but my intention of saying it should be sung by a native is one who can but the true love into it, and this guy does, not just with Baba Yetu but all his performances are amazing and full of feelz. Taste the difference yo.
