Quote: what is my point? that no matter how many people wear a shirt(or try and beat your ass, or talk snow about you wherever you go), if you can't face that, then you need to toughen up.
I got your point. But how can you tell for sure that your personality hadn't been altered by all those fights? "It is never too late to be what you might have been"

Build up annoyance that explodes in a disproportionate fit is in my opinion a common trope, but not something I remember having experienced personally.
Though if I do ignore something, and ultimately find it too annoying to ignore, my initial response may seem more harsh than how I would have reacted had I not ignored the annoying behavior at first. But nothing close compared to the typical analogy of a bottle that explodes due to inner pressure.

Quote: two things i might have been, had i made a different choice:
(sorry for offtop)
"Time present and time past
Are both perhaps present in time future
And time future contained in time past.
If all time is eternally present
All time is unredeemable.
What might have been is an abstraction
Remaining a perpetual possibility
Only in a world of speculation.
What might have been and what has been
Point to one end, which is always present.
Footfalls echo in the memory
Down the passage which we did not take
Towards the door we never opened
Into the rose-garden."
The Four Quartets by T.S. Eliot

sorry markkur, i didn't even realize we had strayed off-topic. chalk it up to lack of sleep.
now, back on topic: has anyone seen the sopa/tpp bill in the news at all? because i certainly haven't. you have to dig to find anything they're actually doing to advance their influence and control.

No problem...all that is part of the EnterNET today anyway.

Of course not...anything important is buried by Starz, Follywood. BS pedlars and endless T&A parades. Women are soooo Free today. Poor Gloria (original women's rights)probably shot herself.

Man you triggered me...I can't believe you would ask a sensible question. Oh and my answer is certainly NO.
You know...that would "like" maybe be kinda important and "like" why would we care to know, you know, "like" news that might alter the course of our human existence?

Porn may become the source/reason that enables much more censorship. I'll make a prediction; Porn will continue but Truth will eventually be censored out, because of the <again> "real-need" to protect children. But, in that filtering...will be much more.
Folks...it's easy, we need small "Free & Independent Channels". The big IT companies are obviously flexing their muscles now. Monopolies are always a disaster regarding cost and choice. Always

Despite the title, this is more about the internet than the workplace.
Agree, very much. A bright young man. I disagree (for the sake of their future) a wee bit about "it being no fault of their own" but think he stated the situation in a very informative and cohesive way.
What I mean about "fault" is, at some time, I had to "break the chain" and recognize my strengths and weaknesses inherited from my background...we all do or should. I just hope that most young people are not so backward out of the gate, that they cannot rise above a crappy beginning. Music, Poetry & Faith were my lifelines and still are but I have no idea what will be lifelines of maturity for the young people today. Sometimes I think because there is so much information available to them at their fingertips that maybe they are overwhelmed by that too?
How sad is it that today Companies and Corporations have to deal with so large a problem, as an utter failure by a generation of parents, when that should only have been a much smaller issue with some individuals here and there?

It's kind of ironic linking how Youtube is in trouble from a Youtube video, though.
Btw, I don't think it's fair to claim facebook also applies censorship in China, Thailand etc. Not that facebook doesn't have its own red lines but in such cases, usually, the censorship demand directly comes from the governments and if you don't go along, they simply block access to your site. So, you can't really blame an internet site for not refusing to obey to the country's law they give service through.

Yes to a degree but they have and are making changes; there is a good one about squeezing out the little-guys. What I have seen; I used to see many old vids with next to no ads and when I saw them they were from small companies or concerns - now I am seeing "much more" of the Big-Corporations...the usual ones that fill the mainstream media, every place I look. I will migrant somewhere so I do not have to see endless Bank-ads etc. But, to each his own.

And of course that is completely bypassing the nature of the Government doing the snooping. Frankly I want know Gov storing my every action...like is happening now in the US. Google, Facebook etc. are not just yielding info they are working with the Gov. here. What they could or couldn't do elsewhere idk. But it is no secret here.
Fact...If the IT companies that we did business with were not creating huge freakin' data-bases on every user and passing that info around like air...there would be nothing for any Gov. to demand - we are civilians after all. I can't however, the site did comply but could give nothing because it was not tracking its users. This can be done and far more often.

Sorry I missed this. I am involved now and again trying to put the puzzle back together. I am making the effort...where it goes is anyone's guess. I'm so damned sick...I really need some Heroes to come forward.
