Exe file? I was asking for it since the beginning. So i was searching for the Heroes 5.exe file right??? Not any data files is it true?

yes you must edit the Heroes 5 exe to accomplish these things which is the problem, it is very difficult to do without being a hex editing master with lots of free time to be able to find out which bytes to change and where and how, bear in mind Nival did not make the gameplay very mod friendly and thus very basic things like hero specialties and the like are very difficult to edit lol

Yes it seems my job ends in  here. I will finish my working without changing these things.

Artifacts abilities stats, heroes specializations, Starting bonuses, new heroes items item sets or classes.

I am ready for the release first version. But i have a huge problem. I am looking for the create my own setup but it seems it replaces all data.pak and texts.pak folders. Besides i do not know how to create my exe file. Me and my friends playing it but they are making backup of their data.pak and texts.pak folders and adding my files to their data folders.

How can i create my own exe file? Or who can help me in this modders workshop?

You don't need to create your own exe file in order to write on data files. Just rename the newly created .pak files to something other than data.pak and texts.pak...

I am thinking it's about the exe because original game exe not detects my data and texts pak.

1. You cannot except people on a homm forum to help you with problems you have with installer creation software, especially not if you don't even mention what software you are using. You should contact a forum or tech support about that software instead.

2. That being said you unlikely need an installer or a separate exe file, in fact your post reveals you have no clue about even the most basic homm modding, read the first post of the QA thread and make a .h5u file. Don't touch the data folder at all, that's only for mods that add new map objects.

3. If you are not telling what the purpose and content of your mod is and why h5 needs it, then you are unlikely going to get anyone interested in what you are doing.

1-) I already did. I have posted message on their forums and this forum but nobody helped and still i try to figure out how to do.
Yes i was excepted to people help me because i was thinking they encountered the same problems. For me, if i knew how to do something, i will probably share with anyone who need. I will not hide my knowledge if it's about different software. It is about myself. During my Warcraft III modding days, everytime i was helped people (if i know what is their problems) but as you say i will stop except anything from anyone. I cannot force anyone for helping me (and i never did this, i just ask for help)

2-) Ok i will do this once more. I was checked heroes 5.5 data files (because people suggested go and check 5.5 and try to realize how they did) and didn't noticed anything about h5u. Yes i had no idea even the basic modding but in 29 days i was changed many things, found guides, tried new things and i have learned many things. Yes you can say "i see you have no knowledge about modding" but i have learned because of these messages. My life based on searching, asking, not giving up because i am stubborn.

3-) My mod includes 2 changes

data.pak
texts.pak

And if i use installer, it replaces entire data.pak and texts. pak. This is why i was thinking it is about the exe file. Because 5.5 using this system and it reads data from different data.pak and texts.pak

I am trying to figure it out. Maybe someone can help me. I am just waiting for posts and i am continue looking for solution. It is all i can do.

2. You can use h55 for finding relevant files inside the data pak, but the method by which it is distributed is unnecessary and pointless for smaller mods.

Ok thanks anyway. I am looking for the .h5u files. Don't take it to the wrong way but after i done my project, i will prepare mini guide about modding (at least what i did) because i believe i need to help other people if they helped me. I know i have just changed things at data.pak and at least i can reply questions if newcomes asks about "how did you changed it and how" i can help them. Again i am saying do not take it to wrong way. I will do it for new comers. Love from Turkey and have a nice day.

Here is my new question. I have created new version one of the nes games with hex editor. I understand logic but their community and developers are friendly and sharing offsets with users.

My question is, how can i find the offsets? I want to extend my mod.

Hex editing is not an easy task. Hex editing works the same way everywhere.

You may want to check Deflaktor's thread. He is the guru in hex editing and in that thread are all the fruits of his work.

If you want to do hex editing, first learn how it is done (videos, internet whatever) and then spend a long time to poke around the game. This is real time consumer so think twice before going into that direction.

Thanks and if you read, i said i have created one of the hacked rom for captain tsubasa 2 for the nes. Yes it is painful but forum users and developers sharing the offsets. For example if i ask them "what is the offset for the toho players lineup" they are telling me where it is. But it is my job to how edit and change.

Yes i saw and tonight i will check the entire topic. At least i will try to edit the things i knew the hex code. Damn it. I was started to hide threat levels and now i have a mod and i want to extend it -.-
