Wood Elves
They could shoot twice in HoMMII, but not in HoMMIII...any reason why?

yep... there is...
because their upgrade, Grand Elves soot twice in HoMM3... wouldn't make much sense if even the unupgraded Elves had the same ability, eh? (even if it should be that way)

IMO, they just needed an attribute to give to the upgraded version.

wood elf: one shot. (unupgraded)
grand elf: two shots. (upgraded)
Sounds reasonable.
Just one question, why can
elf shoot faster with those
armour on ????

Well, that`s a good reason!
Maybe it is because they are SO skilled that they can shoot w/ armor on, and because they are SO skilled they need to be protected because so good elves are rare(well, in H3 not but anyway).

That's because the rampart has really bad armorers
Actually all they did was buy silver clothes

You've got a point there. But what the Grand Elves and Silver Pegasi wear don't look like silver clothes or silver cloth. It's armour.

In HMM2 elves were more powerful because even non-upgraded elves shooted twice. So a pack of them guarding something very necessary near your town in the start of the game could easlily slow your expansion.

Probably because the units are wearing mithril armour, they are light but stronger than any other metal.

Foos! The armor is a fake, all it does it make those grand elves look good. The elves from Rampart are so focused on that looking good part that they often sacrifise it for efficiency. I mean if Grand Evles don't look good in their armor, how will they pick up those hot pegasi riders? or other elves? or centaurs? or whatever other very diverse sexual preferences they have?
