New creature proposal: The Olm
Her'es my idea for any H3 mod:
Make a playable and recruitable giant, humanlike Olm
Seriously, it's cool:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olm
They would be recruitable in a cave that fits with green mountains.
Plus they have eastern european flavor.
They can sense electricity, magnetism and infrared and many other things and they live as much as humans.
As "sensing electricity" would be hard to implement ingame (wht, see if your opponent has Lighting Bolt? lol), make it have an electric attack, or give it the extra lighting bolt attack ability of Thunderbirds.
oooor make it spellcasting of Chain Lightining once a combat with a power equal to the number of Olms.
The last option is to give it a paralyzing electrical spell (much like the Manticore's poison, etc.) that has a 50% chance of triggering but only lasts one turn.
Seriously, we are lacking in electrical creatures. The few that exist are way too cool (Beholder, Titan and Thunderbird) to be the only ones, and oif these only the Beholder approaches the Olm... but sadly, it's just a normal/ranged attacker with no magic, paralysis or magical damage.

Axolotl made an axolotl some time ago, so I guess that's pretty close.

Appearance wise they are sort of similar, yes. Though axolotl only live 10 yaers and olms live 100. I guess not much difference in H3 world since there is no realistic aging of armies and most games just last a few ingame months :V

Olm is just an animal, not any monster or mythical creature. Making small animals big and giving them powers in fantasy games is fitting only for animals popular in popculture, like spiders, bats, eagles, turtles... but olms? In my opinion it would not fit.
