Can not see and open saved game
Hi everyone,
Someone got stuck on a map and send me a saved game to check the problem but when i paste the file in the game folder of heroes 3 and go in the game i can not see saved game. I compared the file with some of the others saves and it doesn't look any different. If anyone knows the reason pls share.

Heroes 3 savegames are nothing else but zipped files. In order to edit them, you need to unzip them and then zip them again once the changes are made. If the zipping isn't done with the proper settings, the Heroes game can't make heads or tails of it and won't be able to load the file. It will ignore it then.

I think he means the game does not recognize the file. Maybe the save is from some campaign? If that, then you have to "load game" then "campaign" instead of "single game". Or maybe he is using Hota and you only SoD, probably saves are not compatible?

You need to precise, which Heroes 3 version: RoE, AB, SoD, HotA, WoG, other? Most of later ones won't be compatible with earlier ones, like Salamandre said. Other thing is - do you have the actual map he's playing? You won't be able to load into a map you don't have. Try asking for not only a save file, but actual map file as well, unless it's one of the maps that come with original game and haven't been changed in editor.

Well i am using SoD so now i just have to wait for an answer from the other player what his version is but most probably he is using different version than me. But it is not a campaign and i havent modify the original map which is in the folder so it must be the version of Heroes. Thank you for the responds.

i believe it is because the heroes is different. He send me his map but my heroes does not recognize it.

From what I've tested, RoE/SoD/WoG/Era saves are compatible, they will load and often will crash upon load. If you can't even see the save in the list, I think he has HoTa.

Hi all,
I know this is not the topic to post about it but i don t know where to .
I got some trouble and cant install homm 3 HD .
I got the homm3 complete from gog and when i try to install the mod as administrator, this message pop :
"Homm3 HD must be installed on Heroes of Might and Magic III SoD or Complete.
Selected Folder does not contain required Heroes of Might and Magic III files, so installation of HoMM3 HD is impossible"
Can somebody help me please ?

Change folder destination to proper path where you have heroes3 files.

Why don't you install it as everyone, in C:GOG GamesHeroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete? This is the path proposed by the CD.

i did at first , then i noticed it didn t work that way so i uninstall/reinstall in other folder for test : same thing

  so install does work with the old patch , i have the launcher menu of homm3 HD but when i press "launch" nothing happen at all .
