HoMM3 Complete - difference between version 2 and 4?
So, for the longest time, my son and I have happily played along with Heroes of Might and Magic III Complete, with the setup file executable being version 2.0.0.16.
Well, I logged back into GoG, and then realized that the setup file I had wasn't from my account, but from an ex-girlfriend, so I got my own.
Interestingly, this time, I note that the setup executable is 4.0_(10665).
I've noted a few changes, some of which are convenient, and some of which I think I'd rather it do things the old way. BUT - is there a comprehensive list somewhere of how many revisions there have been between 2.0.0.16 and 4.0_(10665), and that details the changes from one to the next?
Further, is there any way to "undo" some of the changes via configuration? ie: previously, if you hit a Garden of Revelation, or a Star Axis, you would get a pop-up window telling you the results. Now, that just gets put in the status window.
Another thing is that there's no longer an alert telling you that you have heroes with movement remaining when you hit the hourglass. I think I'd like that alert back.
I'm sure there are other things, I've only played 4.0_(10665) for maybe a half hour (EDIT: on the Tutorial, as I was just doing a quick test run). I'm sure there are changes that I probably won't notice for a long time, hence why I'd like a changelog or list of modifications that have occurred, if such is available anywhere.
Thanks in advance!

I did install the HD - and you know, I was so fixated on the HD tweaks in terms of resolution and visuals, that it simply never occurred to me that the HD mod also made other changes that affected the behavior of the game. Looks like I've got to do some tinkering!
But - in any case, outside of confusing myself with the HD+ changes, a listing of all the updates since 2.0.0.16 would be nice.

I think these changes are compatibility with new Windows and modern PC issues.

HoMM3 options: Show Hero Reminder
AFAIK, H3-GoG removed DRM and made some compatibility fixes but did not alter the game code otherwise since they are not NWC.

Umm, HoMM3 options? I thought I'd seen some kind of options in the GUI of HoMM3 itself on my original Millenium Edition version (mouse cursor options, or something?), but then felt idiotic because I didn't see anything in the modern release of the game through GoG. Unless I'm just looking in the wrong place.

NWC is the company that made the game.

Ohh, THAT screen - ok, I was definitely confusing it with something else.
Thanks!
