Actually I have'nt voted yet.
But yeah Tazar is an excellent choice, except he starts with one advanced skill, which means he risks getting a bad skill.
Who would you vote for?

I can't vote in poll, all the same to me! I play with random hero, I have rarely met Tazar. Stronghold too, but I have two heroes, if you still create poll thread

Drakon is quite good too (and pretty much any Beastmaster is better than those Witches you have listed).

Yes I agree, I like Korbac too, but I chose 3 of the best Beastmasters and 3 of the best Witches imo.
Witches are pretty bad, though Andra is quite cool if she can learn some good spells.
I guess there is no contest about Tazar being the best fortress hero overall though.

Styg, Andra and Voy are very good.
Styg is good if you manage to get level 3+ damage spells.
Andra is one of best magic heroes. She can spam 4x DDs, Town Portals etc and still have mana to return to the town.

I went for other: Drakon.
A big amount of gnolls with extra speeds helps up clearing the map really fast. I prefer playing medium sized maps over the XL versions anyway.
Without a doubt tazar is better once heroes reach level 10+

I personally like Andra.I think she is unique and I guess only dark-skinned female hero in HOMM 3.

Yeah she was also dark skinned.But I always thought her(Tamika's) skin color came from her race.(She is a vampire.)But i guess she was dark-skinned before she turn.

I wish I could say it was Styg but Tazar can stand toe-to-toe with Crag Hack. Drakon or Alkin could be good for smaller maps I guess, although my second choice after Tazar would be Bron for the Basilisks

It is not racism is just an obsevation. Hard to be racist with this game heroes .
And btw I play very often Wystan he is one of 2 heroes from fortress (Alkin is the other one) who got good skills almost everytime and those lizards are very good in the begining of the game.
