I heard they got an acting coach just for him. A Solo who cannot act, that's gonna be a riot.

One of the reasons why I found TFA enjoyable despite the story being a clear remake, is that at least the film introduced a shroud of mystery that left many speculating about the future direction of the story. What was Rey's lightsaber vision all about? Who are Rey's parents? Who's Snoke? How did the First Order come into power?
TLJ simply discarded these things. Who’s Snoke? Doesn’t matter. Who are Rey’s parents? Nobody. Or how did Maz get Luke’s lightsaber? Why did R2D2 magically reawaken? Why did Luke hide a map inside R2 if he didn't want to be found? Who knows and who cares. The main idea of TLJ seems to be “let the past die”, which numerous characters state throughout the entire movie. Problem is, each time the film presents an opportunity to do so, it undercuts itself and reverts right back to status quo of Episode IV.

JJ Abrams is talented at creating mystery. He did it in "Lost" to great effect, but he doesn't actually have answers to what he is doing. That's why the series started out with high fan reviews and by the last season it had sputtered out. It was too late though because it already made lots of money and a bunch of airtime.
He was specifically hired for the purpose of re-energizing the franchise by throwing mystery into the first movie. You got trolled by a marketing ploy. The new movie is about a bunch of evil profit-driven arms dealers getting rich to build up the First Order fleet... written and produced by a mega-corporation that was refered to by George Lucas as "slavers".
And now you have slightly less money. GG well-played.

It basically ends up in more or less the same place it began. Sure, Luke and Snoke are gone, but they had little screen time and significance in the start of the sequel trilogy (TFA) to begin with. Rey is still on the light side, Ben/Kylo Ren is still conflicted and on the dark side, Rey & Finn’s relationship didn’t move an inch, we still don’t know anything about who Snoke was, The First Order still has the upper hand like in the beginning of TFA...

Frankly, at the very beginning of the movie, I had a bad feeling when the commander of the Resistance fleet flew up to the dreadnaught to tell a 'your mother' joke. I had a quesy feeling in my stomach that the next 2 and half hours would be **** and I was right.
If you enjoyed the movie you're luckier than me. But on the bright side I've gotten like 10x more enjoyment watching reactions on YouTube.

So teh interwebz are now raging on, even going as far as labeling it the worst Star Wars film?
Meesa so happy.
But to be fair, watching anything from hollywood lately seems a lot like reading a book published by an authorised author from the Soviet Union. any book. No matter how good or bad it might be, there's the ideological bullcrap(maybe not intentional by the author, but mandatory in the book's case), whether you like it or not.
Anyways, onto something better, like the Star Wars: Legacy comics.

I liked it.
While it wasn't great by any means, it was solid entry to the series, and much more enjoyable than Episode 7.

While the trailer didn't 'buy me' (for one I think they didn't pick up the best actor for young Han) I want to give it a chance based on how Rouge One, another Star Wars Story which was standalone, was so much better then TLJ...

Finally got around to watching 'Last Jedi'. Been lol'ing at how dumb, cheesy, and over the top it is. It's so bad it's back round to good again
Been taking some snapshots of my favorite bits:
Gold lame Snoke with old man eyebrows lol.
Hux's sideburns rule the galaxy.
No, this chick's expression rules the galaxy lol
Rey on a grubby island in full makeup. Nice job though - that's a damn pretty face.
Maybe not the best idea though...
I like this chick. I think she should get her own indie movie. Like a cute lez drama with Leia after Han went a'pirating.
lol at the Jedi mind link.
wait, is that really funny or is it just because it's 6am and I've been up all night with insomnia?
Little toad nuns! No this isn't my imagination, this is ****ing hilarious.
This whole bit is so ****ing stupid.
I bet Luke stinks to high heaven.
I bet the whole time Rey has been on the island she's been thinking "How do I politely tell him that he stinks?"
Daisy Ridley though is really good.
One day she's going to do something great and people will forget she was ever in this ****.
Daisy Ridley's clearly behind-the-scenes video that got cribbed for the movie.
OMG this sidequest is so tedious
from now on whenever this side plot comes up I'm just going to post sexy pictures of Oscar Isaac.
lol at the cheesy Caribbean music in the casino.
FFS I think the only way I'm going to get through this sequence is by playing 'pork, marry, and kill'.
Pork
Kill is easy
hmmm, no 'marry' yet.
Earn that paycheck Daisy!
I salute you Mr.Hamill, for sucking it up and sticking to the script.
Sexy Oscar
getting sleepy
drama in the rain
can't make it...
okay I'm going to marry Daisy. That photo conveys so much joy that there's got to be a really nice personality behind it. Plus the professional integrity she has in the face of script adversity has to count for something.
okay, time to go to sleep

adding what i posted in the movies thread:
just watched star wars: tlj. for once, 4chan didn't actually ruin a movie for me by giving something away. and why?
SPOILER:
because luke committed jedi suicide; nobody killed him.
which makes me wonder: does luke even get to go to jedi purgatory with obi-wan and yoda? or does he go to jedi hell for committing suicide? or does he just become one with the midi-chlorians? it's perplexing.
all in all, i really like this movie. but, i liked all the new star wars movies, despite some drawbacks that tend to come with disney movies. watching star wars(or any fantasy movie, really), is a much-welcomed distraction from adult reality.
the prequels don't really do it for me. they're my least favorite trio in the set, easy. the new ones(especially sw: tlj), are on-par with the originals, imo(despite pc nonsense and being cutesy disney; which rogue one was a lot less of). i think disney did a great job capturing the star wars universe(albeit in a less-serious and less-adult way in tfa and tlj). overall, i really enjoy their take on it.

Killing Snoke like he was a joke was a joke. A joke I've seen last on the walking dead, season 7 episode something. They hype a character, then kill him real quick next episode.
It's pretty sad to see such a cheap trick in a movie known like Star Wars, a movie supposed to be glorious.
Truth is, Star Wars is marketing for kids. When you market something for kids, and it looks like it's for kids, they're not gonna like it when they become adults. But if you market something for kids, while making it look like it's for adults, then they might still like it when they are adults. That means more revenues. A lot of it, maybe even 5 times the profits compared to kid stuff.
They're killing off all the older characters so we can end up with 2 pop stars ; Rey and Kylo. Show us your naked chest, Kylo. I'm sure it's because of some in depth connection to the force, as they Star Wars directors told us, not because they want to impress the 15 year old audience. Kylo's there for the young girls, Rey is there for the young boys.
I expect a show of Rey's breasts in episode 9.

That's mostly because there was a change of directors (Rian Johnson took over from JJ Abrams) while there was no trilogy framework laid out. JJ Abrams left no guidelines or requirements for Rian Johnson to follow in the next episode and since Rian Johnson had issues with Snoke being in the way of Kylo's rise to power, he decided to kill him off. Same deal with Luke and Rey, basically.
The first two episodes in this trilogy are loose cannons, not going anywhere in particular, by the current state. I can only wonder if and how JJ Abrams will make amends and still present a satisfying story arc for the final episode and the trilogy as a whole. I have severe doubts.

i'd be down for that. i think she's cute.
i think the sexual tension between rey and kylo shows that they're only human, after all. nothing wrong with 2 people growing up and discovering the opposite sex. that's something that the original star wars movies covered as well, in case you forgot. hell, they even flirted with incest.
to just eschew that scene, is to forget one of the things that made the original star wars movies more endearing: the divide between luke and han over leia.
i think it's funny that no one mentions how rey and kylo are both white and attracted to one another in tlj, while in tfa, it looked like rey and finn were going to be lovers. apparently, they decided that it would be better for a black male to fall in love with a asian female. classic disney, taking the more traditional racist route, despite all the "pc" racist snow that floods everything these days(like how in tfa, the main white guy in the movie was a villain, and a white woman and black guy were trying to "stop his evil". it's as blatant as the racism in the movie "the deep", where all the good guys were white, and all the bad guys were black. and yet, the reverse is acceptable in this day and age of supposed equality for all races: see "get out").
