Heroes 3 necromancy/lich mod help needed
I'll state in advance that i don't really know what i'm doing so i may very well need some hand-holding, and do not particularly care how balanced some of the changes i'm looking to implement are, number tweaking can come later.
I'm looking to alter how necromancy specialty works by giving it the same functionality as cloak of the undead king rather than the increase to necromancy's effectiveness it currently has.
I am also looking to change how lich's death cloud ability works such that they essentially get to attack all enemies at once (change death cloud's damage modifier from 50% to 100%, increase it's range to be global, remove the undead immunity but prevent it from striking allies, etc.). I've already significantly toned down their damage using CRTRAITS.txt to compensate for this.
I have absolutely no idea where to begin as none of these changes seem to be doable through txt editing and I have absolutely no idea if they're even possible through VCMI. (Edit: though i do not know much about them, hex or erm editing would be fine too if possible)
Apologies if I make myself look like an idiot.

Yes, this belongs in 3.5 board.
As a short reply to your main issue, if you want to do this in VCMI, you should look to their forums too. I know I've seen a few threads there already of people looking to either add or alter how secondary skills work.

thank you for the advice, i'll look around there to see if i can do it through VCMI.
Re-reading my original post i realize i sound like i wanted to do it through VCMI however if it's possible through hex or erm editing i would also appreciate some help on that
