HI Pleuris,

Thanks for the site..

I was unsure if these where all your creations? Or if many have submitted maps available for download.

Anyway if thats the case is there a way to contact the designer of the maps?? I am part of the TOH heroes4 map council and we are in need of good balanced multi-play maps for the new season when and if the multi patch arrives.

So I am basically wondering if when I have a chance to go through a number of the number of the maps and find some that I feel are good/balanced 1o1 and 2o2 maps how we would go about requesting permission to use and upload maps to the TOH database for Tournament play..??

Thanks for The site btw looks like hours of maps to play

heroes4.org has lots of HOMM4 maps, but many of them haven't been fully playtested, if at all.

http://heroes.h1.ru also have lots of map.  I can't tell if they have been playtested, but each map comes with a "rating".

Maphaven and Celestial Heavens carry only fully-playtested maps, but only a few maps are available.

I already knew about the Heroes4.org archive, but this thread gave me the extra push that I needed to go back to it and take another look

Thanks to kevyip for posting the Heroes.h1.ru link. If you'll excuse me, I have some downloading to do...

Ahhh

thanks for the response Plueris.. I found most of the maps have a creators email in the description..

I found a number of great multi play maps there that I intend to ask permission to use for tournament play.

Thanks for the sight VERY helpful to me.

I just found out those map ratings were simply download counts.

The site now allows you to submit a rating of 0 to 10 for each map.  This and Maphaven are the only two sites I know of that shows players' feedbacks for each map.

Currently there are only 2 maps with a rating of 10, and -- modesty be damned -- one of them is mine.  This first-time mapmaker is rendered speechless...

No offence, but how do we know you didnt vote a 10 for your own map?  There was only one vote and that was a 10 :-P

H3trio also do map ratings - http://www.h3trio.com/ - they're only slowly getting their H4 system into gear, but they're the sort of people who'll still be around and plugging in a year's time.

Anyone have any idea why heroes4.org is not currently available?

I know *I* didn't vote a 10.  So somebody else must have done it.  It's very gratifying to know someone in this world thought my map was a "10".  I was surprised to find most maps got a "6" and below, even the ones I liked...

Thanks, DS.  Just wondering...will you be reviewing my map "The End of the World" on MapHaven, since you were playing it a while ago?  This first-time mapmaker needs some detailed opinion and so far I've only got that from one person (HappyPike)...

I started playing it with that intention.  However, I've been away at a conference and haven't finished the map yet.  I'm a little worried, anyway - for example, I killed the two stacks of Faerie dragons without charming any; is the map robust against that sort of thing?  There are a *lot* of different creatures to be recruited and only a small fraction of map still to uncover.

You don't need the Charm skill at all.  To obtain faerie dragons, you need to defeat a certain hero in the underground and capture the Preserve town.

Just wondering...have you recruited any high level Life creatures yet?

No, I don't think so.  I might have picked up a monk (I forget, it's been two weeks) but I *certainly* haven't got an Angel.  Nor do I have much in the way of Death creatures (though I stomped a few stacks in the early game.)

I'm reassured to know I haven't played myself into a losing position without knowing ... at least in that regard :-)
