Wish: Paradox as HoM VII dev.
Hi
I just played Hearts of Iron VI and it struck me that Paradox did a very good job of balancing the resources. I would love to see what they could do with the heroes franchise.
I know they do RTS (with pause) but they have a lot of games where different units have different strengths and weaknesses, getting and securing resources, managing them and building an empire. One issue I have with heroes is that the resources are pretty much the same in that you get them the same way you spend them the same way and when all the buildings are constructed only gold and the resource for the top tier creature matters.
A different resource could be a mana pool that can give an empire wide boost to the armies, or resurrect defeated heroes, or increasing creature growth or something completely different.
Upkeep (both army and heroes) would make it a very different game but if done correctly I think it could be fun and make mines a lot more important in the end game.
What are your thoughts?
Regards,
Troels

My thoughts are that Triumph (Age of Wonders series devs), after their acquisition by Paradox, are working on their next game. They will reveal it shortly (there's a Paradox event coming). I'm more interested in that.
While the idea with M&M franchise sounds nice, it won't happen. Btw Ubisoft had a great chance to make the franchise great by continuing their collaboration with Nival, but they blew it.

Someone should make a change.org petition for Nival to make HoMM 8
