Whereart thou oh stunner?
Been playing a couple months, here's my team:
I'm still more focused on PvE, trying to get solidly on Emperor and also fully beat the monster that shows up in my kingdom on Saturdays. But, at least in the case where I'm investing heavily (like option #1 below), would like to see a choice that also pays off in PvP
Here are some options I'm looking at. Would love to hear advice from someone with experience in the game.
0. Tiamat - my current choice. To my best understanding, she's not a good long term investment, so I haven't put in any essence. She's not targetable, a major drawback, but for BT 51 and kingdom monster, is livable.
1. Monkey King - I see that in its last awakening level, a 3 turn stun that can chain to adjacents was added in a patch last April. Does anyone out there have experience with a fully awakened Monkey King?
I know Monkey King gets no love, and I have yet to see a top player with this creature in their lineup (probably indicator enough not to go for this one). But I'm wondering if it got no love as a result of its pre-patch lameness.
Very heavy investment for a relative noob to make, as this is 15 greater essences to get stun. Would have to be viable in PvP to make it worthwhile (I think).
2. Sorceress - with just one awakening gains stun on main target. Right now, looks like my best choice.
3. Epics and Rares - my current list: Walrus, Wood Nymph (4 dot, fully awakened), Evil Eye (2 dot), Blue Drake (2 dot), Goliath Beetle (2 dot), Walloper.
For all the above I worry that they won't hold up in the higher level PvE. I know castle matters (I'm level 21), and I am testing, right now my best candidates are Walrus or Wood Nymph (but I guess Wood Nymph is fragile).
Anyhow, sorry for the long post, but any advice/comment would be much appreciated!

I'm still very curious to hear from anyone that has experience with a fully awakened Monkey King...

I don't own one but I battled one on blue week and it surprised me, almost lost! The buff he got in April really made him better, but expensively so as you need the last awakening step for him to shine, while other stunners can already do the job half-awakened.

Monkey king is really strong, both as an attacker and as a defender. The biggest problem that Galaad already pointed out is that he needs to be fully awakend. That's 15 Greater essences that could have been used to get 3 other bosses to lv 105.

Right, makes a lot of sense. I am very curious to try him out, but as a noob, I should probably focus on creatures with a quicker payoff for a while. One day...

I used the Monkey King in my attack army for a very long time. He is one of the best creatures in the game. The unfortunate part is that very few of the good defenders are red so I feel right now blue creatures are not needed in the attack team of pvp. With that said, I still find he gives me the most defense wins of any creature I have during blue weeks other than the Fallen Angel during dark weeks (I don't have a bone dragon or he would also be better during dark weeks). He also isn't only useful once getting fully awakened...he does loads of damage and the stun is just icing on the cake.

if you're lucky, get a Lightning giant.
AOE stun is always useful.

Ceratops has been working out well for me, with AOE stun. I've come close to one-shotting a wave in PvP. No luck so far in pulling any giants though.
