Should you convert gogs/hellhounds into demons?
I am undecided about that because its usually harder to effectively calculate the total HP but Ims ones are easy 35Imps=4Demons and they are designed for this purpose. Also Gogs are the only available shooter in the town.

Don't know about gogs, but hell hounds (cerberi actually) are pretty nasty with Bless on them. They can easily go from 0,4k-2,8k damage (just an example of damage that cerberi might deal) to 3,5k damage when Blessed. And this is damage against 3 enemy creatures at the same time, so it's a big deal in my opinion
If you purposely push them forward to sacrifice them so you can convert them into demons you lose one of the few strong points that Inferno has. It's much better to outwait the opponent and then attack 3 creatures at a time, twice. That's what I'd do anyway...

So the whole point of demon farming is sacrificing lower level creatures, like imps, so what is the point of Ignatius?
But in regards to your question I agree with Monere. Imps and maybe gogs, not hell hounds, they are quite good, at least when upgraded. Magogs being the only shooter and with fireball area effect, would also be a bit foolish to sacrifice I think.
But you can use all other kinds of low level "fodder".

Exactly!
Ok, if you feel ballsy and you don't need shooters you can sacrifice the gogs, too, but I have yet to see Inferno players feeling ballsy

Do they also turn zombies and wights to skeletons too?

Everything can be converted to Demons if you want to amass them in great numbers but usually there's no point as the neutral dwellings on the map provide enough "fodder". Level 1s come free and some of the Level 2s are excellent for the farming purposes - like Dwarves or Harpies. A force of Demons/Horned Demons which is 3x the normal population you get from the town could be quite problematic for the opponent to deal with if you use it properly, higher numbers turn Inferno into Necropolis (but could be tough to achieve).

it is viable, since you get a better damage and survivability per HP out of demons. Cerberi are faster with better specials though.

you have all the rules here, it's important to remember them.
Demon herding is effective, but requires a lot of planning and usually ends up making me want to claw my eyes out.

Depends.
On templates where tempo is important its useless, its better to sacrifice low level units in banks.
On big templates like 6lm or something if you don't have anything better to do it might be very strong. Everything 1-3 should eventually become a demon.
