Isn't Castle one of the strongest town?
Despite having the highest damage output, one of the strongest units in all tiers (except 5.th), best native terrain, decent heroes, angel powerstack advantage, than why I see some tier lists in SoD/HotA that Castle isn't in top 3? Am I missing something or Castle isn't as strong as I think?

It is by far my favorite faction. I love to use the Royal Griffins with Arch Angel Resurrection, especially when attacking other towns. One of my best friends LOVES the Tower, and has it down pat, though, and he's good at using magic.

Castle is definitely a strong town. Physically powerful units, except shooters, decent heroes, though Leadership and First Aid is not that good. Pretty expensive to buy units each week though, especially Archangels, it can also be pretty tough to build Angel and Archangel buildings. Does best on maps with lots of water, where they can take advantage of Shipyard, Lighthouse and perhaps Sylvia.

One of the major differences is that one, while in SoD a powerstack of Archangels, consisting mostly of upgraded angels you got from conservatories, is basically unmatchable, in HotA the other guy can easily have one of Cyclops Kings or Titans that completely outshine's it. Since in most cases it all depends on how many creature banks you took and how good was their looting, the owner of a city that allow for any of those creatures upgrades can became a pair for another.
Btw, have you tried Fresh Mod? It looks to me like a great solution to these creature banks problem.

Castle is very strong.
In SoD it was a little worse since the start was very slow, but in HotA it's extremely powerful.
Far from the strongest but still very strong.

The problem with creature banks is that players accumulate creatures predominantly from these banks (because they're too easy to clear out) instead of the weekly growth in their towns. Especially when the creature reward consists of high level creatures.

I though they are decently guarded also just wondering do most of players really complain about that?

Just my humble opinion, but I never liked creature banks period. I mean getting resources and xp from them is fine, but I never liked how every army will end up with the same powerstacks and why the h*** would Inferno wanna carry angels around or Dungeon carry Giants/Titans around, they are supposed to hate those units...

Decently guarded until your army mass passes a certain threshold, yes. After that, you'll roflstomp all those creature banks, rolling up whatever is released to even further boost your army. Given the very low variation in the creature rewards, all armies tend to gravitate towards those specific creatures.
And I agree with Phoenix.

@Otuken Fresh Mod trades the creatures in banks for level 6 and 7 from players starting town, so you will fight your human opponent with the about the same number of creatures you would (it balances the strength/number of those creatures) but all from the same town, so both players can upgrade everything.
I never played it but from the streams I saw (Gomunguls has some in his channel) it really circumvents the advantage of starting with Castle or Fortress.
Btw, if you think creature banks are "decently guarded" you definitively should watch some pro-players streams, you still have a beginners approach to these fights.

Would it be better if they give random lvl 6-7 creatures?

After certain rounds its even so easy to break Dragon Utopias. But Angels in month 1 is much more important than taking them in month 2. The game is just based on speed. It revolve around how fast players can take them. Also it would be interesting idea if guardian creatures (also amount of award creatures) would increase in time.

Not a bad idea actually, but that would give about 20 different creatures, so it would probably be hard to make them match your army, especially if they are not upgraded.
I think I would like better if they give resources and a chance for artifact(s), and perhaps a random spell scroll or teaching a random spell of a certain level.

Tower is another strong town imo. I just played it recently and forgot how much fun it was. Aside from their rather weak start, they can be become a force to reckoned with if you know what you are doing.

Fully built Tower is the strongest town in SoD but try the "Barbarian Breakout" scenario to test their limitations. When you spend months without meeting enemy heroes Tower is the best, when they are in your back week 2 it's the worst.
Is it just me that finds the Dragonfly Hives the hardest of all creature banks? Shouldn't they be easier then the ones giving level 7 creatures, like it happens with wolves picket?

Yeah Tower is really weak early in. Week 1-2 are crucial if you play Tower. Especially if you and the enemy are close together. You gotta bum rush stronger units and pray.
@bloodsucker I know what you mean. I hate Dragonfly Hives. I think it's a mix of their speed and their special ability that makes it aggravating to clear.
