Poll Question:
The ultimate Heroes 3 hero!
Hello guys and gals.
This is the final poll, where you decide who is the best hero in Heroes 3.
It started with the "Best X hero" polls, then the "Best hero in Heroes 3" poll and based on you votes we get this final poll.
I have even included Sir Mullich as some of you seem disappointed he was'nt in the last poll.
If you vote "Other" please no campaign heroes, HotA or WoG heroes or heroes from other mods and please write a comment about who you voted for.

Clearly, clearly the best hero in HoMM3 is Melodia. Hands down she wipes the floor with everyone that she meets. Tazar? Who? Crag Hack? Don't know him. Adelaide? New phone who dis? Dessa? Can't come to the phone now cause he's dead! How'd he die? Melodia found him. Enough said.

Well Adelaide could perhaps win if it was a beauty contest, otherwise I see her as no more than a mediocre hero.

No HotA, WoG, Campaign heroes ...
Isra - not so powerful at the start of the map, but with a little of luck it becomes OP at the late stage...
Why - If you manage to play long enough and gather required artifacts, then you get ultimate hero (Standard Heroes 3 Complete-no mods like HotA)
Required items:
Cloak of the Undead King - pretty easy to make if map has artifact market
Armor of the Damned - same as above harder but still possible to buy all required artifacts on market, due to fact thet every required artifact is minor those items often spawns at the map itself
Orb of Vulnerability - one of the most useful artifacts for Necropolis in my opinion
Other items which helps:
Ring of Vitality/Ring of Life
Spirit of Oppression
Quiet Eye of the Dragon or Ring of the Wayfarer
I fully understand that setups requires a lot of luck and patience, but even if you get 1/3 of those items - your army of dead will be OP
Sir Mullich - His army could be deadly with few small artifacts like:
Cape of Velocity
Quiet Eye of the Dragon or Still Eye of the Dragon
Ring of the Wayfarer
This kind of setup gives you +5 to speed on every unit, that provides opportunity to almost always attack first by every stack of units
but as for me Isra is still much more OP due to rise Liches (expert necromancy)

@Gravedigger Just curious, but why would you equip Orb of Vulnerability on Necropolis armies? You ruin their undead resistances and make yourself vulnerable to Blind, Berserk etc.
Unless you are digging your own grave, Gravedigger?

Because undead resistance is not affected by Orb of Vulnerability? At least you still can't blind undead, not sure about Berserk cause I almost never use it.

Oh right, I forgot that, guess undead does'nt have eyes. But Berserk will affect them, I know that.

Yes that partially true but, undead is undead and its not affected by Orb. This orb has also second face - it removes resistances of every single enemy you approach like gold or black dragons, immune to fire, resistance to magic etc etc.
Isra specialty gives +5% to necromancy, necromancy expert gives you +30% Cloack gives you another 30%, Necromancy Amplifier (bulding)+10%, summary 75% of dead units come back as skeletons... but as you have expert necromancy it rises Liches instead of mere Skeletons... This way you can sacrifice your own skeletons, zombies and enemy units to rise Liches in higher numbers. I often do that there is no point in upgrading skeletons and zombies.
This is my tactic - probably not so effective ...
Armor of Damned can't cast nerfing spells on dragons, (there is always Rampart at the map always...) Orb of Vlnerability allows to nerf dragons - which means Your Ghost dragon's are probably the fastest units on the battlefield and that gives huge advantage, since the faster unit is the more effective slow is ( 11 to 7 speed or from 7 to 5 speed) This gives you opportunity to focus on deadliest opponent's units first  Those steps allows to minimize loses on your side.
I hope it has any sense ( sorry my English is ... yeah)

Yeah if you use the Orb with Armor of the Damned and especially against dragons, that's a good combo. Still like I said it kinda ruins it a bit for your own Necro-army. It would be even better for towns like Castle, Stronghold and Fortress which have no resistances to begin with and the hero must of course not have the Resistance skill.
Edit: Okay I just tested Orb of Vulnerability with and against undead and it actually does'nt affect many spells:
On the plus side you will be able to cast Frenzy, on the negative side you can also be affected by Berserk, Forgetfulness (only liches) and Hypnotize.

Doesn't Isra at least deserve to be candidate of the best hero even without cloak of the undead king?

Galthran won the best Necropolis hero poll, followed by Thant, then Isra 3rd, but I agree Isra is a strong hero, so is Vidomina.

Still I can't really figure out how come Galthran is stronger than Isra? I think they may be equal, Isra may be slighly better but never though Galthran is better than Isra.

Well that is your opinion, the majority disagrees with you though.
If you ask me, I would say it depends, but I can say Galthran is the very best creature specialist, giving the highest attack and defense bonus + speed + making more skeletons through Necromancy!
So I would probably go with Galthran as well.
