Is it possible to disable the war machine upgrades? (The ones you buy from the blacksmith).

Absolutely fantastic mod. Warfare is my favourite change. Not that tactics is a bad skill, but it totally changes the flow of the game.

Many people don't use the tactics skill despite it being quite useful, just because it drags the game.

WM upgrades can be disabled, but only in the script file. You could also just ignore them, or is there a specific reason to not use them?
By the way the Mage Guild also offers different upgrades. I assume disable these as well?

The mage guild offers upgrades?!?! I thought I'd read all the documentation haha. That's how the AI has all those weird things.

And I want to disable it mostly because of the AI. I have no idea how they are affording them-because I certainly can't- but combat is becoming less about units and more about what war machines they have that I can't see before I attack them. It's fun when I do it, but the AI is getting on my nerves.

I'll check out the mage guild though and see if that changes my opinion.

Edit: I just realized I'm playing with the longer battles option, so that's also going to throw some stuff off in regards to the war machine strength. I'll have to try a relatively clean playthrough on the same map and see how I feel.

Hi ;-),

the graphic can be found in the Mod folder
ACM/Data/advandec class mod.pac

It breaks my heart that you want to disabled the sounds of Warmachines they were carefully selected from Might and Magic 7 and each faction has a different speaker.
But here you go:
Open Advanced classes skills.erm and search for

!?FU(Play_Mage_Guild_Sound);

now you write

!?FU(Play_Mage_Guild_Sound); !!FU:E;

Save. And press F12 ingame to apply change to current game, then the sounds should be gone.

And thanks for the awesome mod, was looking for something of similar scale to Phoenix mod, after it stopped being translated to eng.

If I get your question right: You must left and or right-click on your hero portrait in the hero screen. When your hero was promoted to a Grandmaster Mage class you have a chance for that picture to appear for female heroes.
It would also be possible to force this particular picture to appear for certain heroes, but that requires a few lines of code.

Clicking on the experience icon, backpack and spellbook also brings up some dialogues (just in case you were not aware).

Thanks again for your reply.

I was referring to decorative squared frame, from female grandmaster mage photo. I like it much more then the elliptic one, used for other heroes/classes.

I assumed this is optional feature, or was used in older versions of the mod.

Anyhow, its not a such a big deal.

ACM Version 1.08

Time has passed and there is a new update for you ;-)
FanofHeroes was so kind to provide us with new and wonderful graphics for secondary skill icons, representing also master and grandmaster level. This was the last step necessary to provide a good way of playing with 5 skill levels instead of 3. I think it really makes a difference in immersion and now the mod feels complete. The implementation required some advanced hacking which could only be done by Daemon Thank you very much for that!

This update was only possible due to community work. Archer provided us a new configuration window for the Enhanced Henchman mod, it can be found in the Difficulty Mod, which has also been updated. Thanks a lot!



Changelog 1.08

When updating please delete the old version before installing 1.08

New:
+ added new M/GM secondary skill icons (big thanks to FanOfHeroes and Daemon)
+ secondary skill names are now displayed properly in hero screen
+ added Mobile Market of Time in towns, lets you forget secondary skills
+ added GEM town button to visit Enchanter, Blacksmith, Market of Time (work in progress)
+ now you can assemble Angelic Alliance again, new set bonus is lost when asssembled, so choose one

Balance:
- increased Heal Capacity from 20 to 30 per level for Hierophant commander
- slightly increased bonus HP for Tent and Ballista from Hierophant and Ogre leader
- Reduced damage of Fire Mage commander class
- reduced value of Supporter commander mastery
- commanders get less free kill counts at level up

Fix:
- spelling corrections in text files (thanks to Matrix Gneurshk)
- added multiplayer scouting event fix
- added warning to not assembly combination artifacts in backpack, because it can cause stat overflow
- fix passive for Hierophant commander was not working on Heal and Heal Capacity
- tried to improve MP support by removing VR:T and replacing with VR:R
- Fire Mage cannot exceed Max Kill Count

Dif Mod 1.035:
- Added new configuration window for Enhanced Henchman Mod (done by Archer)
- removed random hero and karmic battle script file from mod



Taste is different:
In the ACM folder you will find three types of "skill colors" available
All in white (classic style)
All in golden (WoG style)
All in golden, green and red (ACM style)

Personally I will stay with the coloured variant 😎 . But on a survey the majority said they would want white skill names....  so you have the choice.  Find and replace the file in the ACM folder and restart your game. Easy.

So how do I disable the Warmachine and Magic guild upgrades? I found the spot in the script but it's been 9 years since I learned the tiniest bit of ERM scripting so no idea what to do.

Time to learn ERM again!

Search for
"Warmachine Upgrades and Enchantments Sections"

Then look for the next two triggers !? and disable them by writing

!!FU:E; [Exit] behind them. This will block you access in town.

Then search for:
"*Teach AI how to use WM Upgrades and Enchantments"
and disable the next trigger.

This should avoid 95% of all interactions with Warmachine Upgrades

I've got this weird bug where my spells sometimes disappear part way through combat. It only seems to happen with magic specialists, but then again, they are the one I'd notice missing spells.

It's not the thing where you can only cast spells from a specific school, or only your speciality. All of them are gone.

My spell caster is a master in 3/4 schools and a grandmaster/specialist in fire if that helps.

Also only have spell scrolls, don't actually know any combat spells.

This also happened to me rarely with deemer, but with adrienne it seems to happen whenever I fight another hero especially

You play with "New Spells" mod? If yes that is the cause. You must wait for a compatibility fix by the author.

I do. I seem to remember it happening occasionally without the mod as well, but I'm not certain so for now I'll call it solved.

I used Heroes 3 editor to give myself the spells for the battle and it seemed to do the trick.

I got the same problem, I made a clean install to be sure nothing is wrong with my installation but yes looks like we have to wait for a fix.
I confirm this is always happening with mage specialists like Serena for example.

Hi Khadras,

it should already be possible, many players are using it. You can send me the save of that battle crash, I suspect the problems is somewhere else and not the 11th skill.
