Aand I forgot to reply here.

Doomforge, I salute you. Not even I would put myself though that, the whole saga is just too much.

It did take a ridiculous amount of time, I have to admit. But it was mostly fun, from start to finish... I were tired after a while of the antiquated interface and walking speeds (even though I modded them to be faster), but it wasn't unbearable.

I think Neverwinter Nights 1 aged way worse, the interface makes you want to claw your eyes out.

I'm glad you introduced me to SCS and Imoen romance, it was fun to replay bg2 with new content and new challenges. Both solo and with two characters. I still dislike how much emphasis they put on high level arcane casters, precast buffs and shoehorned annoyances I did not ask for like beholders randomly snatching your Anduran shield. Whoever made this should suffer in the abyss for a decade or two. But overall however it was a good experience and it made battles significantly harder, I even had to revise my memorized spells every 1-2 encounters.

You can fortunately customize SCS to your heart's extent - most features can be changed from an ingame menu. I played at 100% insane settings (minus the vampires because it's too annoying even for me) but that's because you know me - I have to challenge myself

I had already played the enhanced version before and was not exactly impressed by beamdog's standards. I would honestly prefer an option to completely remove their content from the game. Dialogues are bad, motivations make no sense, unskippable cutscenes and some pretty bad writing. Dorn happily invites you to murder people in a wedding during daylight. At hello. Neera invites you to her camp even if you've never met her before and she even manages to get locked out of it. Hexxat.. ugh. Rassad.. meh. Only good thing about her is carrying a coffin that can serve as a bag of holding which is handy for solo. So yeah, remove away. They are just not up to original bg2 standards.

Yes, this is why Imoen Romance is so awesome: it just blends perfectly, fits like a glove. That's how expansions, additions, etc. should feel. Natural. Beamdog's NPCs feel often out of place, forced, and the locations/plot makes no sense. Especially Rasaad's BG2 quest. It's just honestly retarded. The whole notion of this "bad guy" becoming a leader of the renegades just to... sneak out, come back with some mooks and try to kill the renegades? what were they smoking, honestly.

And you still have to play through Siege of Dragonspear, entirely made by Beamdog

TBH it's not THAT bad, but it has a completely different feel than BG1 or BG2. It's mostly a fun way to start BG2 as a developed dual, because the level cap is 500 000 xp (which corresponds to Berserker or Kensai dualing to a mage at level 9 and unlocking his skills right when BG2 starts - now ain't that fun ).

Baldur's gate is an epic series and I loved the journey. Now looking forward to Larian's bg3. I know it won't be anything like before but I have certain expectations from these guys.

They said mind flayers will play a big part. Honestly - I'm not a fan of unavoidable stat drain, it's just a hassle in a CRPG. Hopefully they won't go overboard with this.
