Creature rankings (for lazy mapmakers)
Creature rankings [in PEONs given in the campaign editor random monster propertises]:
/this thread is for lazy people who find it too boring to search the exact PEONs there/
LEVEL 1:
- - The absolutely best:
1* centaur = up to 8 peasants
- - Now come the creatures in rather small interval:
2. wolf = up to 5 peasants
3. crossbowman / orc / zombie = up to 4 peasants
4. berserker / dwarf / halfling / leprechaun / pirate / squire / sprite / troglodyte = up to 3 peasants
- - And now the guy this calculation is based on:
5. peasant = peasant
LEVEL 2:
- - All level 2 creatures have also a rather small interval:
1* gold golem = up to 27 peasants
2. minotaur / troll / white tiger = up to 26 peasants
3. evil eye / medusa / nomad = up to 25 peasants
- - Okay, now come a bit weaker creatures:
4. ballista / cerberus / elf = up to 21 peasants
5. harpy / mummy / satyr = up to 19 peasants
6. gargoyle / mage = up to 18 peasants
7. pikeman = up to 17 peasants
8. ghost = up to 16 peasants
PS. The random monster propertises don`t include the mermaid.
LEVEL 3:
- - The first free creatures (including both necropolis level 3 creatures) seem to be far stronger than others:
1* vampire = up to 102 peasants
2. cyclops = up to 101 peasants
3. venom spawn = up to 100 peasants
- - Now comes a large interval and then:
4. efreet = up to 80 peasants
5. ice demon / naga = up to 78 peasants
6. griffin = up to 76 peasants
7. nightmare = up to 73 peasants
- - Now a relatively large interval and then:
8. crusader = up to 61 peasants
9. unicorn = up to 59 peasants
10. monk = up to 53 peasants
11. genie / waspwort = up to 52 peasants
12. ogre mage = up to 50 peasants
- - And the elementals are far behind:
13. earth elemental = up to 38 peasants
14. fire elemental = up to 37 peasants
15 air elemental / water elemental = up to 36 peasants
LEVEL 4:
- - The black dragon is ofcourse almost a half stronger than any other creature:
1* black dragon = up to 616 peasants
- - Now come the avarage level 4 creatures (in quite small intervals):
2. behemont / dragon golem = up to 314 peasants
3. bone dragon = up to 310 peasants
4. angel = up to 309 peasants
5. hydra = up to 308 peasants
6. titan = up to 307 peasants
7. devil / mantis = up to 306 peasants
8. faerie dragon = up to 305 peasants
9. phoenix = up to 304 peasants
- - Now comes a REAL brake:
10. thunderbird = up to 202 peasants
- - And another large interval seperates the thunderbird from the weakest level 4 creature:
11. champion = up to 159 peasants
PS. The random monster propertises don`t include the sea monster.
OVERALL (for extra lazy people):
1* black dragon = up to 616 peasants
2. behemont / dragon golem = up to 314 peasants
3. bone dragon = up to 310 peasants
4. angel = up to 309 peasants
5. hydra = up to 308 peasants
6. titan = up to 307 peasants
7. devil / mantis = up to 306 peasants
8. faerie dragon = up to 305 peasants
9. phoenix = up to 304 peasants
10. thunderbird = up to 202 peasants
11. champion = up to 159 peasants
12. vampire = up to 102 peasants
13. cyclops = up to 101 peasants
14. venom spawn = up to 100 peasants
15. efreet = up to 80 peasants
16. ice demon / naga = up to 78 peasants
17. griffin = up to 76 peasants
18. nightmare = up to 73 peasants
19. crusader = up to 61 peasants
20. unicorn = up to 59 peasants
21. monk = up to 53 peasants
22. genie / waspwort = up to 52 peasants
23. ogre mage = up to 50 peasants
24. earth elemental = up to 38 peasants
25. fire elemental = up to 37 peasants
26 air elemental / water elemental = up to 36 peasants
27. gold golem = up to 27 peasants
28. minotaur / troll / white tiger = up to 26 peasants
29. evil eye / medusa / nomad = up to 25 peasants
30. ballista / cerberus / elf = up to 21 peasants
31. harpy / mummy / satyr = up to 19 peasants
32. gargoyle / mage = up to 18 peasants
33. pikeman = up to 17 peasants
34. ghost = up to 16 peasants
35. centaur = up to 8 peasants
36. wolf = up to 5 peasants
37. crossbowman / orc / zombie = up to 4 peasants
38. berserker / dwarf / halfling / leprechaun / pirate / squire / sprite / troglodyte = up to 3 peasants
39. peasant = peasant
PS. The random monster propertises don`t include the mermaid nor the sea monster.
PS 2. This is what the game programmers think. In my opinion a black dragon can never beat 616 peasants.
SOME STATISTICS I CALCULATED (from those facts up there):
- - Black dragon is the strongest level 4 creature. Some calculations:
1 black dragon = 77 centaurs
1 black dragon = 38,5 ghosts ~ 38 ghosts
1 black dragon = 22,814... gold golems ~ 23 gold golems
1 black dragon = 17,111... air elementals = 17,111... water elementals ~ 17 air elementals ~ 17 water elementals
1 black dragon = 6,039... vampires ~ 6 vampires
1 black dragon = 3, 874... champions ~ 4 champions
- - Champion is the weakest level 4 creature. Some calculations:
1 champion = 19,875 centaurs ~ 20 centaurs
1 champion = 9,937... ghosts ~ 10 ghosts
1 champion = 5,888... gold golems ~ 6 gold golems
1 champion = 4,416... air elementals = 4,416 water elementals ~ 4 air elementals ~ 4 water elementals
1 champion = 1,558... vampires ~ 2 vampires
- - Vampire is the strongest level 3 creature. Some calculations:
1 vampire = 12, 75 centaurs ~ 13 centaurs
1 vampire = 6,375 ghosts ~ 6 ghosts
1 vampire = 3,777... gold golems ~ 4 gold golems
1 vampire = 2,833... air elementals = 2,833... water elementals ~ 3 air elementals ~ 3 water elementals
- - Air elemental and water elemental are both equal and they are both weakest level 3 creatures. Some calculations:
1 air elemental = 1 water elemental = 4,5 centaurs ~ 4 centaurs
1 air elemental = 1 water elemental = 2,25 ghosts ~ 2 ghosts
1 air elemental = 1 water elemental = 1,333... gold golems ~ 1 gold golem
- - Gold golem is the strongest level 2 creature. Some calculations:
1 gold golem = 1,687... ghosts ~ 2 ghosts
1 gold golem = 3,375 centaurs ~ 3 centaurs
- - Ghost is the weakest level 2 creature. A calculation:
1 ghost = 2 centaurs
PS. Once again I mention that the random monster propertises don`t include the mermaid nor the sea monster, but I don`t think they would have a radical influence to my "strongest and weakest creature calculations".
PS 2. Once again I mention that these calculations are based by the system created by the programmers of H.o.M.M. 4 and they may not be quite right.
PS 3. As I mostly copied the text from the random monster propertises then I`m not worth a quality point, am I? Or am I? They have never given me one...

Somehow, I think Faerie Dragons are better. I've tried level 4 creatures against eachother, and a Faerie Dragon beats anything but a Black Dragon or a Behemoth, Black Dragon is obvious and the Behemoth because I haven't tested it yet. When you did this, did you have the Faerie Dragon casting the Lightning Bolt spell?

Ummm... I didn`t actually TEST these statistics in the GAME, but simply wrote out the info from the RANDOM CREATURE PROPERTISES in the CAMPAIGN EDITOR. It was a sort of coping text, but it took me a lot of time... The calculations are also based on the random mon. inf. only.

Did you include creature growth as well?
I bet if you'd included 1 week worth of monsters, your stats will change considerably.

again, he didn't do anything other than collect the data in the random monster properties of the map editor. (Not to put you down, Dajek, it was still a good post) He didn't make comparisons based on actual strength, cost, who beats who under which conditions, etc.

These stats. are all relative, and there are too many scissor paper rock effects to give an absolute value. In one test which i performed, one single sprite can take out an infinitely large stack (single stack, mind) of ogre magi, if you are patient enough. This is because, the slow ogre magi never catches the sprite and the sprite can keep on doing the hit-run-wait attack without retaliation.
Of couse, this will never happen in actual game play because the ogre magi would be spread out into several stacks, but still, theoretically, it is possible. Cheers.
