Exact difference between lose/escape/surrender/dismiss
Hi!
I'm wondering what are exact differences between the losing a battle, escaping from one, surrender, and dismiss the hero.
I know Surrender is costly (how much exactly it will cost me? And what circumstances let me surrender, or not?) and let me save my hero with his artifacts and army. I know when I escape, I lose my army but not hero. And... it's all I know Lastly, I lost my hero in battle, and surprisingly I could buy him in the tavern in the few weeks
What are these mechanics exactly (I'm looking in the Internet, but I can't find anything more explicit)? What exaclty I will lose and what I will save in which option, and when I could hire this hero again?

When you surrender (and pay the price for it), your Hero is immediately available for rehire in your Tavern along with all Artifacts owned by that Hero as well as what army was left alive when you surrendered. If not recruited before the start of a new week, the Hero returns to the global recruitment pool, for anyone to hire whenever the Hero pops up in any tavern.
If you flee, you lose the Hero as well as the army, but you can then rehire him from your tavern right away, including all owned artifacts. If not recruited before the start of a new week, the Hero returns to the global recruitment pool, for anyone to hire whenever the Hero pops up in any tavern.
If you are defeated, all Artifacts owned by that Hero are transferred to the winning Hero and the Hero is returned to the global recruitment pool, for anyone to hire whenever the Hero pops up in any tavern.
If you dismiss your Hero, the Hero returns to the global recruitment pool, for anyone to hire whenever the Hero pops up in any tavern. The Hero keeps all Artifacts, but loses the entire army carried when being dismissed.
Three additional notes:
1) There is an artifact, called “The shackles of war”, which prevent fleeing or surrendering for both parties involved. With that artifact equipped, the battle will go on until one side has defeated the other.
2) Each week, the Heroes available for recruitment in any Tavern are refreshed, picking a random Hero from the available recruitment pool. Restrictions may apply, specified in the map configuration, reducing the available number, though generally all non-active Heroes are in the recruitment pool.
3) Whenever a Hero is hired, the slot from which he is hired is repopulated with a randomly chosen Hero from the recruitment pool. This also enables a player to “farm” for a specific Hero, as gold allows the player to do so.

Just a note here, if the accumulation of both heroes artifacts is greater then winning hero slots and backpack the remaining artifacts stay with the defeated hero. War machines will not transfer, either.

Thanks! It looks like I had totally wrong info about that Now I see possibilities of each of these options If I am rich, surrender is basically like Town Portal

Do keep in mind that you’d also be funding the enemy war machine at the same time .

If you flee/surrender during the opponents turn on day 7, he will return to the pool before you get a chance to hire him.
