ERA III
A new major version of HoMM 3 ERA was released
Current version: 3.0.2 (alpha 2)
What's new?
Optional ERM 2.0 mode: named constants, local variables, and functions at the precompilation stage. It became possible to write clear code with a small number of comments.
The ERM engine has been rewritten: a lot of legacy fixes, universal syntax, convenient work with strings, bug fixes, expanding and adding commands, and much more.
Added standard ERA library for ERM: 1 extended event and thousands of predefined constants.
The ERA becomes a full-fledged core for all sorts of modders: there are no more imposed mods, animations, most graphical changes, new interface, replaced campaigns and music, etc. By installing ERA you get a working skeleton with all the tools to create a unique build for your tastes and desires. The base set of new monsters/objects from WoG 3.58 remains as resources and switchable game mechanics.
Working with ERM functions has become even more pleasant: correct counting of passed parameters, default parameter values, and auto-initialization of parameters with zeros.
Improved debugging and testing support: new magic constants and the first version of the Era test library. Auto-tests on ERM are written for detected bugs.
SN:M dynamic arrays now perform the role of lists perfectly. The change in size was optimized. Access to end elements by negative indexes is now available.
Added a new OnAdvMapObjectHint event that allows you to dynamically control the hint when hovering over any map tile, which is actively used, for example, in new creature banks mod by PerryR.

Beauty! I said ERA 3. But I changed my mind. Later on I download newer ERA 3. I'm not in a hurry.

I used Era III ver3.0.2.
I play H3 and find the "QuickBattle"(Hotkey "Q") func is missing.
This func ,which H3HD provided , can end the battle by automatic combat.
I wonder if the Era III eliminate this func?

Had the same problem with missing Quick Battle options. On first WoG option page is a setting that needs to be enabled in order for Quick Combat to appear before battles.
Not sure if it also solved missing Q-key. I will check later.

I don't know what's "igrik dialog".... but "Q" quick end battle is not a wog script , but an original HoMM3 HD 5.0 additional function.

Hello Bersy , I test what you say.
I disabled "wog native dialogs.era" in ERA2910 , the "Q" quick battle was unusable too.
I also find that "wog native dialogs.era" provide damage and kill in action turn.
This prediction of killing enemy is also missing in my ERA III.
This may imply that "wog native dialogs.era" is fall to launch in the Latest ERA version...
EDIT:
I updated my "wog native dialogs.era" with the one in ERA2910 , instead of the one I downloaded , it operated perfectly.
I suspect if it was broken.

Pardon me if this is a stupid question; I'm relatively new to the world of Heroes 3 modding, though I have been playing with ERA-Wog for a little while.
I tried downloading ERA 3.0.2 alpha, and it seems to be lacking many of the features of 2.9.1.4. For instance, the five pages or so of WoG options are now about a third of a page. Most mods (even the ERA scripts one) are gone. it's not readily apparent whether one is supposed to download and install those packages separately, or whether we are waiting for them to be added to 3. I'm not sure whether the existing scripts are even compatible anymore.
I asked mostly because one of the mods I use was just updated to a version that requires ERA 3. Otherwise, I probably would have waited until ERA 3 was out of beta. Right now, it seems more as if it's out for modders to take a look at and study than for gamers to actually start playing--or am I just wrong?
I looked for information, but searches for ERA III or ERA 3 always send me back to ERA II.
Any clarification would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks! In thinking about it, I realized there had to be something like that in the works. It makes sense to have the framework out there for modders before the whole gaming build is available, and I know these things can't be done fast. I'll be eagerly awaiting the next release.

A new HoMM 3 ERA version was released

What's new?
Added the long-awaited possibility of unlimited artifact names/descriptions changing using EPM without binding to a fixed set of string variables.
EPS files (WoG options files) got rid of H3 engine restrictions on 12-characters name length, which allowed to restore Era Scripts mod funcionality.
Added a new event, occuring before battle stack gets turn and before the regeneration phase. The need for such an event was pointed out by Z Enhanced War Machines IV mod author.
Multiple minor fixes.

[+] Added command SN:H^art^/art ID/0 (name) or 1 (description)/$text
allowing to get/set any artifact name/description without z-variables dependency.
[+] ERS-files parser was rewritten. No more H3 bugs, caused by 12-character path length restriction.
Any ers file name like "some loooooong script.ers" is supported.
[+] Added OnBeforeBattleStackTurn event. It occurs right before OnBattleRegenerationPhase event.
Parameters: Stack ID (0..41). Change the first parameter to give turn to another stack.
Note, that similar OnBattleStackObtainsTurn event occurs when stack becomes active and is not related to regeneration phase at all.
Normally OnBattleStackObtainsTurn occurs after OnBattleRegenerationPhase but may also be triggered manually by calling

[-] HE:P without 4-th parameter now works as in WoG 3.58f for compatibility reasons. If hero belongs to current player,
teleport sound is played and screen redrawn. Otherwise teleportation is silent without visual update.

[-] Included missing ztower1.def in hmm35wog.pac. Credits: ArnoVanClaire.
[-] Fixed invalid Sorceress fight value in zcrtraits.txt. Credits: Archer30.
[-] ztport01.def monolith will not be used on random maps anymore (removed from zaobjts.txt).
[*] IF:N fix was improved. Credits: igrik.
[*] Era exported functions with boolean results now return int32 0 or 1 (0 or -1 previously).

Hello, can I just install ERA 3 to the HoMM3 folder? Actually I did, and the ERA start menu - Era 2 mod manager is still 0.93.6.3 beta.
I cannot find the way to uninstall the last ERA edition, and I don't know which file of ERA to delete. Help please

Best way is making 2 folders of Heroes 3
1 - original Complete Edition(as backup)
2 - to install ERA

Hi!
Does this version of ERA work with HOMM3 HD?
Btw, when I tried to install it, there was a message in red saying: "Cannot create _Install_Rooth3wcmped.exe". No idea what that means.
