It depends on what you consider a "root cause". Zoonotic pathogens themselves don't cause pandemics. Nor does simply eating meat by itself give rise to zoonotic pathogens.
This is too simplistic a viewpoint.

Very good point!
How we handle and react to potential viruses that have the potential to reach pandemic proportions means everything.

It wasn't a try. It was a stunning success
Nobody comes out as a winner from COVID and it's abundantly clear that there is no wholly satisfactory way of dealing with these sort of crossover scenarios.
This isn't even getting into the planetary burden of livestock grazing

Who is doing most of this meat consumption? White people. Africa and Asia consumes substantially less meat. The grain demand from cattle alone is huge. From the article:
"Seemingly benign bovines and other livestock eat soybeans from the deforested tropics, emit clouds of methane, pollute streams and gobble up 30 percent of the world’s grain production."

Well, the pandemic angle beside, I would have no problem eating genetically engineered and farmed meat if it tastes the same. I saw a TV programme where it was tested with chicken meat and they couldn’t tell the difference. No animals getting killed and you still get your kebab. That’s great, I see nothing wrong with the idea. I guess, the technology is too expansive as of now, to be common but that will change eventually.

It's not equal to farmed meat; it's actually better. You can leapfrog the long and drawn-out process of selective breeding.

So, to further clarify: "eat bugs and soy, and don't be white." Got it.
Anything else you care to enlighten us on, blizz?

When I say farmed, I mean genetically farmed, I’m not referring to animal farms.

This is Blizzardboy's malefic plan to make the whole world eat bugs and soy, as fred said.

Blizz can't take credit for the leftist propaganda he absorbs like a sponge.
I really wish he were just trolling, but i don't think he is(maybe i'm being naive). He once claimed he was trolling and apologized to the community for it... Maybe he's back at it again? Most of his posts read like bait, regardless of his past behavior.

You are so addicted to your anti-white radical racism that you don't even do a search. At first I thought you might be right, nonetheless I did a quick search, as in every case you, Minion or JolyJoker claim having found the grail.
In the first 10, it's a tie. At 1st rank, Hong Kong
So if you look closely, what that shows? Not that black people have some special bound with nature so they bow to preserve it, but more money you have, more meat you eat. Nothing to do with white skin, but with your civilization level, which explains why Asians are now at the top of consuming meat.

I plead guilty to some moderate theatrics and writing some posts in a way to purposely draw attention. Then again, I'm 99% sure most of the other regulars here have done that as well.
@Salamandre:
Hong Kong vs USA? Seriously, lol? Hong Kong is a wealth hub.

Doesn't matter, where you look before saying it's race based, is at per capita percentage.
So, as China will tomorrow replace USA at possibly every top level, expect them to consume also the most meat. Then, as Africa will industrialize somehow and get richer, they will also consume more meat. Is NOT race based.
You could have formulated "western type civilizations", as China becomes one, which could have made more sense.

Culturally, USA has developed a dependency on meat. I realize that the rest of the world is quickly catching up with meat consumption and obesity, but that is all the more reason to have this conversation. Id'll happen now or id'll happen later, but it's not going away.

Meat is not bad for health. I would say USA developed a dependency on sauces and other similar junk accompanying the meat.

Did you just refer to sauces as "junk"? That is like 10 times worse than calling somebody a fascist. And I'm the one who is accused of trolling?
Look, I know there's a ton more to the equation than eating meat, so by all means, have at it.
