Mansplaining in the Workplace
Mansplaining in the workplace
I thought this was a very good chart to explain a common sexist pattern in male-dominated workplaces or in casual settings. Has anybody witnessed this problem in their lives?

I have personal experience of how hard it is not to mansplain when you have some junk in the middle of them. Does that count?

Bloodsucker, what do you think mansplaining means? Because I get the impression you're thinking about something else. Did you read the article?

Ops, you're right. I thought it was about not being able to close my legs when I'm seated, the same way women do (manspreading). It has a similar sound.
I've always worked mostly with men (IT), so I don't have enough experience on that field.
It was a joke, anyway.

I have thought it was more of a language barrier issue rather one related to sex (they couldnt understand the instructions, incapable of asking for help feels like bloody Faulty Towers some days).
In regards to my boss, I often put a fresh coat of paint onto some duty or procedure and try and explain it to her, it's not meant to be inventive the point is for her to notice im taking the piss. I live for that scowl.

Yeah, that is manspreading.
Anyway, if you can't close your legs without crushing your testicles then you have something anatomically wrong with you and you may want to visit a doctor. The testes are suppose to naturally rest underneath your thighs/buttocks when you sit down, not directly between them. That would be horrible.
Manspreading is definitely highly inconsiderate if public transportation is crowded and a fine may be warranted in certain cases.

Do you find it sad because you think mansplaining doesnt exist or if it does, that only women should react to it?

If "mansplaining" exists, so does "womansplaining". More leftist sexist divisionist tripe. So progressive. So powerful. So brave. Gimme a break.
Sexist snows come in both sexes, and they're not limited by what's between their legs; they're limited by what's between their ears.

The fact is, in the professional workplace, women have a long history of having to put up with men being sexist, and then being pressured to remain silent about it if they don't want to jeopardize their chances of being promoted. The issue is not at all 50/50. Give me a break.
It is of course possible for women to mistreat men. I am not denying this fact.
This issue is far worse in the Middle East. Do you think there would still be a war in Yemen with people dying by the thousands if the Saudis were ruled by a queen? Answer honestly please.

When was the last time you had a job, blizz? The 50's? Today's workplace is nothing like the 50's. Only someone who has absolutely lost touch with reality, or who lives under a rock, or who is TROLLING believes the snow you spout constantly like it's your own.
Answer this honestly: Are you trolling, or have you just lost touch with reality entirely? Because you seem to enjoy wasting sane people's time.

Sure, both sexes can be sexist, but the ratio of male sexism regarding social norms, is way more dominant, especially in the office. You can say for instance, regarding childcare, the opposite is true, during divorces the law usually favors the mother etc. So, it’s a matter of context.
@blizz
A female ruler doesnt change the system, political arena is not a platform where people make decisions based on their hormones. Male leaders dont declare war out of testosterone. I mean, maybe in ancient times it had a small effect (but there are still ruthless queens, so...) but today, the state is much more of a buerocratic mechanism anyway.

No, it absolutely is not; and you're DEAD wrong. Women have not only taken over certain professions or places of power, but have taken over whole companies in the states; and even driven men out entirely. Try doing that as a male-only company. You don't think that sexist anti-male bias isn't in the workplace? Move here. Get a job. Then just even EXIST as the demographic they hate. Complaints can easily be manufactured against you, and if you're a male, you're targeted by man-hating females. If you're white, you're targeted by people who hate whites. If you're BOTH? Better do everything you can to be REALLY nice to people who hate you; because all they have to do is make a CLAIM against you, and that negative stigma stays in your work file. Don't like that? Speak out about it. Disagree, argue, don't sign the letter of reprimand. Now, you're declared hostile. Keep in mind, they can terminate you from your job at any time. All you have to do, is be a straight white male; and a target is now on your back.
@blizz: articles and viewpoints that contradict reality(especially an anti-male article written by a woman, like your link) mean nothing to me. I'd just as soon listen to a cat meow, than i would your bullsnow viewpoints from whatever bullsnow source you provide. And, i might add; actually pay attention to them. Just because they're cute. Your views, on the other hand, are akin to me swatting cockroaches with a flyswatter.
Here's another forbes link for you, written by a woman. Tell me that you don't see the obvious bias, there.
Are you wholly incapable of being and posting nothing but anti-male, anti-white, anti-american sentiment?
Why haven't you virtue-signalled yet about gays? Or trannies? Or furries even, you crazy squirrel?

Not where I work it isn't. I had to look the word up as I didn't even know it existed. I don't feel inclined to use it in the least now that I know of it, partially because of the bias deliberately inserted in it, but mainly because I really don't need it. It's a non-issue as far as I'm concerned.

Well, fred, if things are like you say, and you are this “good guy” (dont get me wrong, I dont think you are an evil person) who constantly becomes the target just for being a straight white male, how come you need to emphasize the article is written by a woman. When you link an article supporting your own view, do you link it by saying “here’s an article written by a man.” You see, things like sexism arent black and white, they are sometimes tendencies as simple as this. So, let me ask you, if we had an active female member in this thread and she said something like “hey fred, why does it matter who wrote the article, a man or a woman, there are males in the article who also support the same view. That’s sexist.” Would you think, “well, she has a point” or would you rather interpret her behavior as hostility because you are a white male?

It’s one thing to turn these things into post-modern witchhunts, it is another thing not to deny their existence.
