Heroes of Might and Magic 5 - ToE : Units and Combat Overhaul
I would like to introduce to you my mod "Units and Combat Overhaul". The main and actually recent goal of this mod, is to combine resources of Heroes 5, 6 and 7 into one game. I could talk about it whole day and explain why, etc., but i dont have the time for it. For more informations go to my moddb page. Right on main page you can find discord link, news, credits an work in progress footage.
Some credits yould be actually done here. All the knowledge for polygon modeling, sculpting, animations, model rigging, texturing and sound design i have taken from various artists across the internet. I got very important help from Xuxo, that teached me about the basics of modeling and gave me acces to all needed programs for importing models to Heros 5. The most important person is Zahar07. I learned from him the whole procces of ecporting and importing all kinds of models into H5 as well as lots of invaluable advice and helped to solve lot of problems with my mod. He also recommended me very important programs for texturing and modeling, which are helping me a tonn. For more details, please visit my page mentioned earlier.
The whole mod is in state of "Work in Progress" and first earlly access will be released by the end of this week.

Huge undertaking. Love it, and the units are indeed much better looking. For those of use who never liked the cartoon looks of H5, this is great to see come to life.
One things to say is that, I am not a huge fan of the units that have had their "gloss" removed (or whatever you call it). They look odly out of place and simply looks worse than those who have the gloss.
Id say either have gloss for all, or for none to create a better united look, so that it feels like all units fit together.
I understand you might have done this as to create different looks for upgrades and such. Maybe instead add other colors for different upgrades. Similar to Zahar's "Chakram dancers" mod.

Thank you. I dont mind the cartoon look of H5, however i also wanted to use some units from other heroes games with the H5 mechanics and style of the game.
The "gloss" thing is somewhat difficult to manage. I removed 99% of gloss maps, to unite the look and mostly to increase performance. Gloss on these high poly models are quite demanding, and not increasing the visual quality that much for it to be worth it. Gloss function also introduced some visual bugs. Few units retained their gloss map, but its very rare.
