In my view, personality and background are the things that matter the most. Around them you can construct a suitable (or unsuitable if that's what you wish) set of skills (you could ask Lith for help with this as the 'magic', should you decide to dabble with it, system isn't your usual thing) and a fitting appearance. Setting an initial goal for your character might also be good, but it wouldn't be unusual if he/she doesn't have one and is instead going with the flow or is simply trying to survive, it's fine for goal to be found/changed/lost due to the development of the plot. Everything else I think is secondary and easy to come up with once you've begun.
That being said, I should finally choose a name for my character and send a properly formulated sheet to Lith.

Ivana makes a living out of mercenary works and pickpocketing. She is an orphan and have known no relatives. She had friends that mostly turned out to be her enemies because her selfishness and deceptions. Ivana continually moves from place to place, without any fixed home or job. She goes where the money is. Ivana loves to dance and cook. Her dancing and cooking skills are way beyond average.

Nope, I was not familiar with it until 5 minutes ago. If anything, the system was inspired by WoD, borrowing a couple of concepts from Shadowrun (mostly how equipment is handled).
It's designed as a d10 game, and values for attributes and skills go from 1 to 5, under normal circumstances, with 2 being "average" and 5 being "olympic level". If you have a 6 or higher somewhere, there's some supernatural shenanigans going on.

I sent my character to Lith a long time ago, just didn't have much opportunity to post him here. Well, there was also some slacking off on my part, so you are right to tease.
Name: Dragan
Race: Human sapiens (male), native, around 30 years old;
Background: recently fired small time bureaucrat; [spend time with character to learn more]
Personality: intrigant, petty, greedy; coward when it comes to battle; [spend time with character to learn more]
Goal: [spend time with character to learn more];
Possessions: old horse, shabby clothes, full saddlebags, antique revolver in a worn-out holster portruding from under his cloak; [check out more of his stuff when he is sleeping]
Skills: run away (very quickly); expert ***-licking and good at establishing connections; zero fighting experience; adequate with combat knife (only because weapon proficiency is required by law); more or less accurate with his revolver; [undiscovered magic skill 1]; [undiscovered magic skill 2];
It's no fun to post everything there is to know about your character in the OOC, so I decided to have a bit of fun. The undisclosed data is the same as in the HCM I sent you, Lith. The magic (or 'attunement') he is yet to discover is more support than combat oriented.
