How is amazon not getting sued?

I got amazon prime and like many other users I downloaded prime video, ticked "free to me" and used data to download a hand full of videos. Under the impression they were free.

Because I know corporations and businesses get away with stuff all the time I decided to look into what free really meant, and I understand it makes sense they want to make it free only if we have active membership, but it's blatant misleading.

Ironically I'm sitting in the room with someone who was actually charged somehow due to the same misconception.

It's not free, it's free with active membership and only works for 30 days, up until active membership is again checked and payments are made.

How do these corporations get away with this? And are they stupid or are they intentionally misleading people?

I had a similar situation with Chase bank. A veterans account is a premium account but to benefit from a certain feature (nullifying the descriptive term "premium") I had to be active duty.

It's part of the price you pay for being a lazy bleep and buying from them.

I don't see what's the big deal. Trial membership for free for a month, after that it's over. What's there to get away with? You got to watch crap for free for a month, after all.

I mean, what did you think? That you can download the whole crap that is for free and then watch it for the rest of your life?

Looks like you wanted to outsmart them, but you failed to read the fine print.

I refuse to respect Amazon until they are able instantaneously shove food into my mouth before I know what I want:
