How to make AI attack your base?
Hi guys, I'm trying to design a map and I'd like to hear some more advice on how to get the AI to function more aggressively.
The map is set up where your castle is close to an enemy AI castle. Your main hero should stay and defend against enemy heroes, which are released from quest guards every several days with big armies; and there is a big zone for your caster hero to go farm monsters for gold with spells.
Enemy heroes have armies about 1.5x the size of yours on any week, and there is no place for them to go explore without passing your castle. Yet I am having trouble as most often they do not attack me until they can stack troops from the next heroes starting army, after he is released from his quest guard the following week.
I wish I could design it so the enemy ai heroes just come straight for your castle, witho.ut waiting to stack troops from subsequently released heroes
Does anyone have tips for me ? Thanks guys

Well, you have your answer, if they wait to stack armies it means you gave too weak army to each. The only maps I played where AI heroes will attack you everytime are some chinese maps. Where AI has 10x times your army and stats, so make sure you have the spells to survive.
Otherwise it will not work, unless you script in WoG.

What Salamandre says, your advantage is too much so even the AI knows it will lose.
At least give them something like lots of unupgraded gremlins and/or imps; hell, even peasants will raise their army AI vaklue, so they think they have a chance

You can use example from HotA map, where you need to every week defend Cove town with your only hero(forgot the map name)

You could try increasing AI heroes' Attack and Defense if you don't want to increase their armies.
In case you were wondering, the HotA Artifact 'Diplomat's Cloak' doesn't seem to make the AI more aggressive.
If you're using WoG and you want to do a little bit of scripting, you can make player's army appear much weaker. You can find an example in Jim Vogan's map 'Hidden Spells'.

You should make another AI capture the town of the AI you want to attack you. Opponent will attack if they don't have a town and need one within 7 days.

A good question, girls! The answer is 6LM10a, 8 players and XL+U. But opponent AI is always or sometimes weak, thus you edit a map. Ok excitement 6LM10a, I will present my map as an example
Map's name is Blind (WoG/ERA), Impossible level and of course MP/TE map is coming in a week. Yes can be more/another week, I must test a map, map should be playable.
Ok maybe you ponder on Rust Dragons, because AI has Zounds between Legion 1lvl, Swarm between Zounds 2lvl, etc So you have a little timeline. Now if you're playing WoG/ERA, thus crapiccaped HotA..
Ok.. A good gentlemen! Watch map again.. or play WoG in 6LM10a, remember 8 players, XL+U.

Thanks for the advice guys. I've gotten it working better now. Just did some buffs to enemy troops.
Enemy heroes will get close and you have to attack them outside the walls before they snowball by trading to eachother. You sustain more losses outside the walls so the subsequent heroes are more likely to attack you. It works out well and varies the gameplay too

This is a great tip and I could add this in if need be in other situations. This map is designed with 8 different green heroes behind timed gates. It's designed so they stop coming once you manage to defeat their castle and hold it for 7 days.
