[VCMI Faction] Refugee Town

I've finally finished my town and wanted to share it with everyone.
I really liked WOG's Script67 NEUTRAL TOWN and decided to remake it into this new faction I've been working on.

This town's line-up is mainly composed of neutral creatures. Their common point being their non-belonging to other factions.
For balances purposes, I adjusted their growth and costs.

I did wanted to change their stats a lot though, because I wanted to keep them similar to their vanilla/wog counterparts.
However, some abilities were removed and added as "stack experience" in a specific sub-mod for WoG users.

This faction main inspiration are nomadism, motley armies and makeshift solutions.
It also takes elements from the Mesopotamian, Sumerian and Akkadian mythologies.
There are even more source of inspirations, but you can learn more by reading the PDF contained within the mod.


What this mod adds ?
- Obviously a new castle with neutral units within it. These creatures are standalone so you don't need WoG or anything else (besides H3-VCMI of course). It has new heroes, specialties, town/siege screens and puzzlemap, AdvMap/battle sprites, etc.

- New creatures Shapeshifters (neutral creature that shapeshifts into other h3 vanilla monsters), Flesh Golems (a mix between golems and ghosts) and Daeva (powerful djinn, which you can only obtain by defeating the new creature bank this mod adds).

- New spells : Namburbi (morale + luck buff), Sigu (morale + luck debuff), Emet (summons g/d golems), Met (destroys golems), Amad (resurrect golems), and new abilities for the lvl 7 creature.

Quick warning : I didn't tested this mod on versions above VCMI v1.4.2. If there's issues with newer VCMI versions, please send your logs so I can work on it.

Ou nice i like very much spontnic made towns :-))) Very climatic look.
Only suggest to use boars and trolls instead enchancers and sshooters because are reserved to Gelu and Dracon and are not ,free to use'...

One suggestion I'd have is to drop an e from the town name - Refuge fits with Heroes 3's style of town names while still keeping the same theme as "Refugee".

And second question I see castle market. Will be good to have something different. Some years ago when we made similiar towns as Regna or Plane od the Earth all was handmade. Now we have powetfull AI random generate machines! Try it! Eg. you can extract H3 def using MMArchive. And use extraxted picture as base to AI tool. It made you very good new resources in H3 style in 5 minuts! You dont need artistic skill! The same Heroes faces! Find faces you like and use as background for AI. Tyle eg. knight cleric ranger. All It works very good. Time when we was searching net art and simply copy paste to game was gone! Now best solution is give it AI for grneration.

@baronus I tried using Stable Diffusion for creatures, but results weren't usable. Townscreen should be easier.
I'll consider learning how to train a model as results will get way better if I have a model fed with H3 sprites.

However, I'll probably work on that for my 2nd town project as I'm trying to finish this one so I can move on to another project.


I've just finished writing background story for town & heroes (using ChatGPT fed with H3 heroes description to improve the phrasing).
I'm reworking secondary skills for everybody, and I'd like to create new specialty as well. Again, any suggestions welcomed.

By the way, it seems Ahrimans aren't too popular so I'm currently working on a replacement creature. This neutral-aligned town seemed way too evil anyway.
That will be my first time creating a sprite from scratch so I hope results will be satisfying. I've just finished creating limbs and I'm working on a way to animate it.

Animation is now impossible using free tools. You only can made creature AI picture and animate it using 3d tool by hand. But a lot of stuff is simply picture and looks good.
