When I was about 9 years old I tried to make a Custom map and for a reason I can't recall now I made Zubin the protagonist. Precision isn't so bad.
As for the worst, Eagle Eye specialists maybe.
Yeah Paragon map, you meet Zubin.. Paragon is a very famous and high-levelled map.. I beat Zubin  And I can't remember did I finish the map.. When I found YouTube video.. But I didn't watch the whole video.. You must be good player, thus Zubin is a popular villain.. How?
Yes Eagle Eye.. Only walkthrought or speciality map where aren't Mage Guilds, etc So you learn about other heroes also you use a Scholar, when you find Loynis in a tavern, etc.. But normal map like random map, etc Eagle Eye is useless.. How?

Some that come to mind that I don't think have been mentioned:
* Kalt has that weird static Conflux creature specialty and is stuck with Tactics and Learning.
* Any First Aid specialist, but especially Gem. She starts with Summon Boat as her spell, which is so useless. Funnily enough, Floribert is probably the least bad First Aid spec by virtue of also starting with Armorer despite being one of the worst Factory heroes.
* Kinkeria. Most of the replacement heroes in HotA are decent, but Learning sucks and Learning specialty barely helps. By the time a normal hero is level 8, Kinkeria will be level 9. That's the earliest she can surpass a non-Learning hero. Wowie.
* Xarfax has Leadership despite being a magic hero. I get it's flavourful because he's a Knight under mind control, but paired with a lame spec it makes him so awkward.
* Darkstorn makes me sad, since I would always pick him as a kid because his name and art are really cool. Stupid, stupid Learning.
* Torosar. I'm not hugely in love any Ballista spec, but Torosar is easily the worst since he doesn't start with Artillery.

Torosar is probably the weirdest hero in the game, because he does'nt start with Artillery. Before HotA he was not even guaranteed to come with a ballista.
Tactics is good though and Mysticism decent.
