Cultural Myths? or am I bored
I was wondering (cos I'm bored)...if the perceptions or should I say this kind of image we have of people from different countries is true....hang on a minute..."Honey hey can you jump on that crocodile and roll it back into the water please, its breaking my concentration"....now where was I ...oh yes...so for example..swedish people...mmm Sir Stiven , do you guys really spend heaps of time in spa's having umm fun?....and do us aussies keep slamming our cars into kangaroos hopping everywhere around our streets? lol.......is my brain turning to silly thoughts cos I;m bored?....I think so lol

lol rainbow you seem to be amusing yourself there... great! but few of those are ever true, i mean true there are people living the american dream ( or the swedish one or the aussie one) but the majority of us regular people(in my opinion) do regular stuff all over, tho to different countrys regular stuff is faar from different, i never used public transit till i was like 16, to me that was freakishly early anyway, i mean public transit wtf!, now i use it everyday without a thought... it all depends on where you live basicly

What are the cultural myths (clichés) about France for the foreigners (hem... for you all I suppose) ??? I’ll tell you if they are true !

We molest sheep (this is a lie.. I always get their consent first), we tip generously, we are football holigans.. hmmm... oh yeah, we eat leeks a lot..

The French: They drink wine all day long, eat croissants and they all live near the Eiffel Tower... 
The Welsh: Even the Football-players from Wales are hooligans... 
The Dutch (Where I come from): I eat cheese all day long, I wear wooden shoes and I live in a mill...

We are wonderful lovers coz of the french kiss ? Cool reputation but I don’t feel anything special in it. (didn’t tried foreign girls yet )
We drink wine all the day : YEP ! Especially people living in the campaign like my grand-father. He owns a vineyard and me and my family get Cognac & wine for free ! Croissants are delicious, and Eiffel Tower by night is wonderful !
Welsh like all UK inhabitants eat strange food with mint (it’s said in Asterix & Obelix by the brits) like sheep cooked with mint and so on...
Dutchs are cheeselovers (we too but it’s your speciality) and always walk with a tulip in their ***.
Swedish are great fishermen (like Norwegian and Danish... no differences between them all) and they eat salmon and yoghourt. They are tall, strong & blond (hehe) with blue eyes. Swedish women are for us French the most beautiful on earth.

In England (where I have lived for almost 14 painful years)...
The French:- Rude (obviously because they won't speak English in France, like they should. Hmm, logic!), Loaded (sexy rich guys), Excellent lovers, Great wines, Pate makers, Garlic
The Dutch:- Pornographers, Dopeheads, Lowest teen pregnancy rate in Europe (or so we are told in schools), Tulips fans, Make big round cheeses, Anne Frank, Always cycling...
The Austrailians:- Bonza!, Into sheep in a big way , Crocodile wrestling, Soapland (everybody lives on Ramsey Street), Look great in hotpants, Drag Queens, Wombats 'n' Roos, Surfers, All Blonde and sunburned
The Sweedes All called Sven or Ulrika-ka-ka, All their sirnames end in 'sson', All blonde and 6ft, Well Endowed, Eat very dodgy fishy foods, Live in the artic wastes, Norway's the same place, right?
The Welsh Into sheep in a big way, Make cheese, Main Export magic mushrooms (this is actually true..), Always drunk, Beer capital of the UK, Always Rains, Rude (because they speak Welsh in Wales.. almost as bad as them French guys), Short, Rugby Players, Eat rarebits and Leeks constantly.
This is what the English think.. now can you see why I go mental whenever I'm called that?

An American's perspective....
Welsh--Umm...Catherine Zeta-Jones...ooh-RAH! After that, what's Welsh? Isn't that a kind of jelly? Or someone who reneges on a bet?
Scots--tight-fisted, skirt-wearing, hut-living, hill-rolling, swamp-dwelling, sheep-molesting inspiration for Fantasy Dwarves, only taller. And that's just the women!!!
Most other information was given in Mike Myers', "So I Married an Axe Murderer." Most memorable line from that movie was, "Half of Scotland's cuisine is based on a dare."
French--Smelly, stinking, wouldn't know soap if it hit them in the face pansies. Maybe if they hadn't spent so much time stuffing their faces with crossaints, sipping coffee, guzzling cheap Bordeaux, chain-smoking nasty Gitanes & Gauloises cigiarettes, and cursing Americans, they would have put up a better fight against the germans.
Dutch--Legalized pot. Whoo-whoo!!!
Swedes--The women are hot(just look at the Swedish bikini team in our beer commercials) and the men are huge. We see them on ESPN's Strongest Man in the World competitions.
Norwegians--Swedes who hate Swedes
Australians--Steve Erwin and Fosters--Yay! Men hunt 'Roo and ignore their women. So my countrymen come on over and show them some love--American style!
Bulgarians--Neanderthals of Europe.
Albanians-- Countryful of crazies.
Got plenty more...wanna hear them?
Of course these are just stereotypes...or are they?

the Americans- all americans are fat, lazy, stupid, eat from paper plates or in mcdonalds.
the Russians- all russians are poor, stupid and smelly. they eat a lot of pickled cucumber and drink bucketloads of vodka.
the Estonians(that would be me) simple, but stupid farmers. thats it.

I agree with the Gootch. As far as Americans go I hear many people in the Europian area think we're all fat, lazy, stupid, etc. Well I'm sorry to disapoit you. We're only fat stupid and lazy. Wait...what was that fourth one? No. If anything all Americans are different depending on where their from. We all make fun of each other too. Hell it's our own signeture culture. Just like we make fun of forigners. For example: People from Afganastan wear towls on their heads. Well we all know that that's just a lie. Those arn't towls, there diapers. Another good one is people from England are always complaining about Americans thinking their better than everybody else. Thats not compleatly true. We KNOW were better than everybody else...or at least most evrybody else...well were better than the Britts anyway. Ohh Canada is a fun country to make fun of eh . I could go on but I don't need any bad recoil right now. I'll just contine later. heh heh heh.
