It's taken me some time(i've had some stuff to do aswell) but i finally finished this. Copied it from my word document ^_^
Well.. Heres my story..
4 Years ago, i was drunk(and i mean, SERIOUSLY drunk, i don't remember a thing) And i really behaved strange, i didn't get violent or harrased anyone, but lets just say i drank fluid butter, among other things. And teased me like crazy(they still tease me). About 4 months later, i fell in love with this girl. I didn't dare do anything about it(My self esteem was a little bleak there..). But my friends pulled me to a party where she was, and i got drunk. Not as drunk as i was earlier, but drunk. I got to speak with her, and we really hit it out. Didn't help my self esteem much, but i continued this party thing and one day, while i wasn't drunk, i had a great self esteem, plus i'd gotten used the taste of alcohol(even digging some of it.) So my social skills got better, plus i got to know alcohol, so don't diss drinking.
And i have this friend(i went to school with him last year). And he really has NO social skills. He has just turned 16, and he doesn't even dare speaking to girls unless they aproach him first, and they only do that because they have to(pair group in school). He likes to drink, but is afraid to. He wants a girlfriend, but doesn't dare to talk to girls. His mother hardly lets him leave home. He NEVER does his homework, all he does is play is ps2. He's a really good friend, thats why i want to help him. But i don't know what to do any more, i've done all i possibly can do. I've even dragged him to a few parties. And he isn't gay, just so you know. I really care for the dude, i even got teased a few times because i wanted to talk to him. I don't see him at school anymore because we go to differen't high schools, and if i could get him to a party with some girls, and get him lickered up.. magic might happen.. But if he doesn't want to go, what can i do? Alcohol did wonders for me.
All i know is, if i hadn't gotten to know alcohol, i might not have had the power to do anything...
Thats just my 2 cents.

Yes, but Frostwolf is not complaining. I'm as happy as can be with my drinking habits. Plus, my 2 good frinds Finlandia and Jim Beam are always there.
Now, about what TheRealDeal said. I totally understand. It happened to me to. While it is true that booze has a bad effect on your health, it's also true that it can be the greatest helper in matters of social skills. I met the girl of my dreams inviteing her to a bottle of vodka, I've had my first kiss at a bottle of vodka (memories...), and I've made lots of friends at nights of heavy drinking in different bars. What's funny is that now I'm somewhat of a popular person, but nobody really knows me. They just refer to me as 'the guy who always has a half empty bottle of booze...'
So alcohool might be a solution for all you poeople out there who have different problems with your social skills.
Keep on drinking!

About wine and health
I saw a documentory this week end and thought I'd put it in this thread to share this very interesting subject
There are alot of people who think that drinking one glass a day is good for your health...
Well, that depends on whether you are a women or a man. Indeed, men don't metabolize alchool the same way women do and the effects are actually felt different ways, but more on that later.
1) it turns out that 2 portions a day ( one portion = one beer, one wine glass and one once 40% strong) is beneficial for men above their 40's. It actually stimulates the production of good cholesterol.
2) for women, 1 portion a day or 9 portions per week is beneficial for women above 50 years of age.
3) going over these amounts or drinking all those portions in one day has the opposite effect and is very detrimental to your health.
4) for people under 18 years of age (roughly), alchool affects the brain in a different matter. It is actually damaging to the brain and there is no positive effects for that age group. (Now, I wasn't sure about this and this is my personnal input... but it might be that it was added in the documentory to stop kids from drinking or buy scaring the parents who watched the show... I dunno, but it just didn't sound right)
5) Women tend to get more depressed than men when they drink. Alchool affects men and women differently both physically and psychologically. Women's moods will change and it takes less alchool to get as drunk as their male couterparts. And it takes longer for women to sober up.
Then they go on giving reasons for more drinking, cultural aspects that only concern Québec, Canada and would be useless to add here.
The research was done here in Québec. In Montréal to be more precise.
For me, I make wine and rarely drink every day... but I ain't over 50!
But I sure like to drink a beer once in a while around the pool on a hot summer day

Red Flag
We've had four drinking deaths (alcohol poisoning)in the last few months by "seasoned" college kids who could allegedly "hold their alcohol" better than anybody they knew. One young woman just passed away this weekend at a frat house at a local university. She was a beautiful, intelligent, stellar student.
Was. Now she's dead.
Just a warning: several really bad things can happen if you make a habit of drinking to intoxication in your formative years.
1. You can accidentally kill yourself through alcohol poisoning much more easliy than you might think.
2. You can damage your organs irreversibly by long-term excessive drinking, leading to an early, agonizing death.
3. You can develop into an alcoholic, with which malady you will live uncomfortably for the rest of your life whether you "quit drinking" or not.
4. You can cause injury or death to someone around you or yourself by getting so messed up your sense of judgment leaves you and you either get into a physical altercation or drive a car.
I know how "lubricating" and festive the feeling of extreme intoxication can be, especially when you are young and shy and want to get into the crowd. But watch out where that crowd is leading you. Think carefully on this for yourselves; don't let others do this for you. You can be social without the assistance, and this is something you can and must learn to do anyway.
Please, please proceed with caution my friends.

You can also die of falling out of your bed...
The problem here is that there are two "sides" and either one won't accept the other^^
(Ok, there are some that "lie in between" if u know what I mean)
The thing is that neither praising alcohol, nor making it bad helps. Imo having a glass every now and then is not wrong. For me it's just that i realized that I don't like the taste of beer. But a nice wine is not bad But that is from my pov sth that I would drink at special events like birthdays or new-year or sth in that direction.
SO everyone has his/her own opinion about that, fact is that it's sometimes hard to accept the other one's. E.g. I would never agree with frostwolf but I won't totally say YES! to PM either. alc is no wonder-liquid to solve problems, but it isn't a cruel poison, too - at least if used "correctly". YOu just have to find the middle-way imo.
Say no to every glass may not be the totally right way (if u just dont like the taste of any alc that might be sth different) but drinking too much isnt either. I actually would say that it's quite enjoyable to sit together with friends and talk over a glass of sth .. Depends all on the masses and circumstances imo..

Just so you guys get me right -- I still drink, in fact way too much. I do it because it is really fun and I love it.
But I wanted to remind everyone of the dangers of excess as well. Just don't want bad things happening to you guys is all. I have quite a few dead friends from this sort of thing.

Yes, but just because you will die eventually doesn't mean you should jump off a bridge or something. You can die from many things. But that's no reason to add yet another one to the list.

I don't think that Alcohol should ever be looked at as a 'solution to your problems'. I mean, yes it will take away a lot of your inhibitions and that will make a lot of things easier in social situations. But it also can take away a lot of your better judgement too, so you should always be careful that you are in control of the Alcohol, not that it controls you.
I love drinking, I would never give it up, though I do drink much less now that I have kids; its just too hard to be a good parent when you're hungover.
I really can't imagine Hockey without beer, or holidays without glasses of wine, and a yummy Black Russian on a freezing cold day will warm you in the best way

Ahhh, alcohol. Me and him have had some good times. I just feel so free when I'm wasted. Which kinda doesn't make sense (you feel free, but you can't even walk). Anyways, that's my opinion...

oohhhhhhh poem time
Now there was this time i had just alittle too much to drink,
so when i was done throwing up i fell asleep on my best friends zink.
At that time he was really pissed off at me,
Since i had promised him to tag along and the town to see.
If anyone of you wonders how drunk by raki you can get,
just listen up because it was for me the first time an appointment with the white porcelin god were set.
So.. to get back to my senses i had a glass over and over filled with water and ice,
well actually no ice but since water is so tough to rhyme on i pulled this one out in disguise.
Couldnt remember too much of the water drinking anyway though,
But now i can since photographs were taken by my so called bro´.
Anyways so i started to get more sober and it was time to change clothes,
which by the way was the first time since being a child i needed help getting dressed.. well thank the booze.
So party in town were getting started and once we got out in the fresh air,
I figured out again how to walk in a stair.
My friend and i had this deal,
if i were able to come along when been that drunk he promised the truth about this story was to be sealed.
So when we got to the party we got a approached by a friend,
and looked at my friend and said that he always got to drunk in the end.
Then he looked at me and said,
that i always looked so proper and he wondered if ever any alcohol got up to my head.
So my friend and i started laughing so hard,
but because of our deal this was a secret not even to reveal for the scotland yard.
Nowadays i can hold my liquour and as long as the white porcelin god praying is concerned,
ive only been there one more time so i think my lesson was well learned.
Because whats it about is handeling it like anything else,
Do that and there will be no case of listening to church bells.
These days i party about once a week,
which is quite enough.. that way most ladies know which one to seek.
And the social side is also strong when having some beers,
just dont drink to much.. have fun and in great company enjoy some "cheers".

I dislike alcohol rather much, but it does happen that I drink it. Not enough to get drunk though. To illustrate how I personally feel about it I think the world would be better without it and I would say no to a million dollars if an alcohol company wanted me in a big commercial.
But to each their own, if you drink and have fun and no one else is harmed more power to you.
