Poll Question: Best magic related skill
What do you think is the best secondary magic skill?
(The only one which is actually different)

Necromancy, of course.
Summoning at second.

necromancy is really good but only if you're playing with necropolis or death aligned towns.
imho the best magic related skill for all towns is ressurection.

I would have to go with sorcery.
Because chaos magic spells are so devastating already, that extra 20% makes it THAT much better.

not at all, sorcery is a chaos secondary skill increasing all direct damage. It has no effect at all on Hypnothise. I even doubt it if wizardry makes it last longer, i think its just the 3 turns and nothing can effect that. (and would be very unbalancing if it could last 6 turns)
My opinion on wizardry, meditation and all those effectiveness enhancing skills is id rather see them having a direct effect on spells instead of adding 20%-100% to 'effectiviness' (many spells seem to be unaffected by it, as most spells are either for a given number of rounds like hypnothise or last the entire combat like bless).
Much like Earth/Air/Water/Fire magic in Heroes3. Each skill would have an effect according to the level of the secondary skill (it would start with the effect with no secondary skill, basic skill , advanced etc.)

Actually, Sorcery works on all spells. Pyromancy only works with Chaos Magic. I voted for Sorcery.
I just noticed an interesting pattern, however. All of those skills, apart from Sorcery, focus directly on creatures. Resurrection resurrects them, Summoning summons them, Necromancy raises them, and Charm gets them to join you.
Thoughts, anyone?

Sorcery works on damage spells only, pyromancy on all chaos spells.
Like i said in previous post, its a chaos based secondary skill but works on ALL direct damage spells (fi: it also increases ice bolt damage).
They indeed have all an effect on creatures, but of course Sorcery is an indirect one, and can also do the extra damage to heroes as well.

I voted for Ressurection.
Let's say you fought a huge battle against a friend and lost nearly all you forces, while your friend still has reseves at his Castle. How will you defeat him? Not a problem if you have GM ressurection!
Oh, and second is Sorcery.

Ia said Ressurection because, like someone said, Necromancy (Even though it is my personal favourite) can only be used effectively when you have a Death-Aligned town.
