No, its not really that bad-Its an awsome game! It only has some bugs and such, (as far as I know) the ai isn't the brightest,(*cough*SUCKS!*cough*)but once these are fixed, it will be an even greater and more challenging game...but you may have to wait a while...

The game's not that bad. It isn't realy challenging though. As Big_Blackie said, the AI is really PATHETIC.

There will be maps that will be challenging. Buy the game. It isn't that bad. And most of the people who complain about the game know nothing about of it.

Buy the game Titan. Heroes4 is a great game. It will take you a while to get used to the new stuff, but after that you'll never want to go back to Heroes3. It's well worth the money.

Far better than Heroes 3 even though there is no

Well...
I think that all these complaints towards Heroes4 comes from people which are afraid of changes and lazy to learn a new game. I personally wouldnt want a clone of H3 with more creatures, more town types and more buildings. Heroes4 is a totally new game, yet very similar to H3. You have creatures, you have different towns, you have heroes which have a very good role now, they dont just sit back while the creatures fight etc etc... Strategically speaking it is depper than ever, H3 doesnt even come close to it.
Heroes:
A lot of people are complaining that there are fewer creatures than in H3, but now we have the ultimate creature which we can shape as we want to, they are called Heroes. They are a bit different from Heroes3 heroes cuz now you cannot be a master of all skills, so you have to choose, which adds to the strategy and tends to go away from the fact of having only one main hero, you need some more heroes which improves the gameplay.
Creatures:
Yes, there are fewer creatures than in H3, but now they have personality. Every creature has a speciality, and combining these different specialities and using them properly at the right time in the right place, is something that needs skills and practice, which all of the H4 complainers are afraid to do, they have mastered the H3 to the "they-know-that-the-opponent-is-going-to attack-at-week3-day1-with-bla-bla-creatures" state. All I'm trying to say is that they are not giving it a chance, they looked at it, it is different then H3, and leave it, plus there is a fact that H4 multi is not out yet. (I did the same in the beggining, but played it for a while and started to like it), I personally have played, and still play it when I have time (time is of the essence ), and had some good hotseat games which are really fun to play.
Towns:
There are fewer towns then in H3, but, having in mind that the magic system is changed too, they needed to change the town alignment, so there is one town familiar with one magic plus one purely might town. Overall the towns are very well balanced. There was a thread about "Which town is the best" and every poster suggested different towns, and I think that this has prooved the thing that I am saying here.
It was a short description of H4 in my oppininon, and at the end it is your choice wether to buy the game or not, but I personally think that it is worth buying and when H4 multi comes out we, the fans, will ses it shine...
