Favorite Beer
Ah... so many to choose from. Must break into categories...
Favorite beer that I could drink all day long : Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Well, actually most pale ales, but Sierra Nevade is available enough and reasonably priced enough to beat out the others.
Favorite at-the-bar-with-my-buddies beer : Guinness. If any bars here sold it, it might be Boddington's, but, while everywhere has Guinness, it's well near impossible to get Boddington's here. Yeah, I know, to the Irish and the English, Guinness and Boddington's are probably only fit to give to the dog, but here they're imported. And therefore better.
Favorite Beer when money is not an object : Orval. Oh my God this stuff is good. Christianity may well be proven right simply by virtue of having produced the Trappist Monks and their fine, fine ales.
Favorite beer when you only have the change from your couch cushions : Pabst Blue Ribbon. Seriously, this beer that costs maybe $0.20 a glass tastes like it's worth at least $0.50.

You people should try finnish beers. Lapin Kulta is maybe the best, but there are many others too. You will see that we haven't gained our reputation of drinking for nothing.

Newcastle Brown heh heh many's the night I've crawled home after too many pints of that!!
Guiness is my drink of choice but I love them all, dark ales , pale ales, lager, stout, wheat beer.....*slurp*
Which reminds me of the Billy Conelly joke:
"My wife must think a pint is this big!" while holding his arms out wide.
"I tell her, I'm just going down the road for a pint!, and come home like this" feigns staggering all over the place....heh heh

Goose Island Bourban County Stout is the best followed closely by Pyramid Espresso.
I haven't seen either of them in 5 years though.

Duval is the best beer in the world, which proves that the Devil has all the best breweries
Carling is a nice light larger however.
Budweiser is awful and is the work of a greater evil than I have ever encountered.

Anchor Steam, Guiness, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Put a case of any one of those in my coffin when I die and I'll have a happy afterlife.
Also, Anchor's Christmas Ale is usually terrific, but the recipe changes every year, so it doesn't get an unqualified vote as best.

Budweiser, it turns out, is brewed by the people who were behind prohibition. When they couldn't stop people from drinking by law, they tried to stop people from drinking by pissing on a cat (the kind with fur, not the kind that posts on a certain message board) then letting the cat ferment for a few days before drowing said cat in sewer run off. They then put it in cans and sell it as beer.
On another note, Duvel is very good.
Olaf - can't believe I forgot the Anchor brewery, the best part about San Francisco is EVERYWHERE has steam on tap.
Newcastle brown is quite a tasty beverage as well. I don't know if I'd consider it one of the greatest of all time, though.

Newkie brown is gross.
My aversion to Budweiser was discovered the hard way with my ex... I have always hate the taste of it... it makes me throw up. He once gave me a glass of it out of spite, so I threw up all over his shoes. hehehe.

Favorite beer..... I don't have one as I DESPISE beer's taste, and any beer, no matter the kind, ale, lager, piss water, etc. The only way I find myself having a beer is if I'm already half in the bag and then I can't taste it anyways, so why not.... So I shall name my least hated beer, which is Corona... I don't know why that is... it just ahs a different taste from all the others. I used to drink Red Dog all the time when I was younger, but I think the price apealed to my 16yr old walley more than the taste.
But NOTHING and I mean NOTHING can compare to the hard stuff, vodka, tequilla, Jack, 151, Firewater, etc. In a conversation with my friend, he pointed out something when we were talking about the types of hard stuff we like "Joe, you have a problem, there isn't a kind you DONT like"

I think most beers from Germany are very good; Warsteiner, Potts, Franziskaner and Black Max being my favourites.
Of course there are also excellent foreign beers, especially Kozel (Czechoslovakia) and Kilkenny.
Cheers

Girls seem to like Corona. As far as I'm concerned, it may be the one beer that can out nasty Bud.
