Making Saves
Best way I know of for people to save their turns and get accurate data is the following:
Leave a window open to your saved game files.
Alt+tab to your save window after each turn is over and rename your autosave file.
Benefits:
*You get a perfect save of all data at the end of your turn.
*You don't waste one second of your turn time making your save.
Only reason I am posting this saving stuff is that a long time veteran mentioned to me they never thought to make saves because they didn't like losing turn time. When I asked about this method they said it had never occured to them.
Good luck everyone and hopefully making saves helps ya be better and better of a player.

What I always do is that I move the saves into another folder, with the folder titled as the person I am playing with. When I want to load a save I just put it back.
The problem is that my comp at least, for some reason, wont load up a save if I name it thrugh the 'right-click rename' but only if I do so while I am in the game. Anyone also encounters this?

I tend to click once and highlight to rename only the portion in front .gmx (x=number of players) that is different from the last save, and I have never experienced that problem Castrated. I have never tried to rename through the right click but will have to see if that makes a difference. Also, I usually copy the entire game name string with cntrl+c so that I am just highlighting and hitting paste as soon as I pass my turn on.
I use the following name system and it makes finding my saves on reload easy too when there is a bunch in the save game file.
mapnameplayername111.gm2 (abreviations often for long names)
mapnameplayername112.gm2
mapnameplayername113.gm2
111 = month 1, week 1, day 1
121 = month 1, week 2, day 1
I too move my saves during the game. I move in about blocks of 5 though to help make the renaming easier. Also, what is nice is that the latest save is always the one at the bottom of the window....just makes easier for renaming that way for me.

The easiest way!
Funny to see, such discussion, when great utilite was created about 2 years ago by Ukrainian hero living in Canada: Spartak
This perfect program allow to run it be4 game starts and make saves automatically right after you press Alt-E or move turn to opponent.

Ahh...I realised why..
When I used to 'rename' it, I simply deleted the whole original thing... ya, deth, it does work when you leave the .gm'x' behind.

I dun have 2 make seves cause I got photograhpifc memery, so I alwais remember all de games
Dat us cool when I wanna remember how I played. Only bad thing is that u cant see the opps moves, but that is ok too cause I got paranormal psychic memoeriy too 
So when itīs not my turn I can read a book, do the dishes, watch TV, sleep, or make sweet sweet love, instead of copy pasting saves to feed my paranoid side, cause itīs so small and litte so I dun ahve to worry su much about if someome is chte cheating or not. I usually trust them that they are not cheating. and if they cheat, they want the win more than me so its ok
I make 1 save when the game ends, with the persnos name, so that I can make a little museum of games. of course this is only wehn i win, wich is a majoriteeyey of the tiems.

It would be stickied if the boards had that function basically. Thus, the only way to do something similar is to edit or post to keep it viewable for newcomers.
