The Dragon Slayers Community!
*fanfares* *drumroll* *fanfares again*
Warriors and Mages!
Knights and Sorcerers!
Good and Evil (and maybe Neutral too)!
Welcome to
THE DRAGON SLAYERS COMMUNIIITY!
Let me explain.
No doubt everyone knows who dragons are. Many of you have fought dragons at least once, and I think there are even some professional dragon slayers here.
What you do in this thread is:
-Post all the info about dragons you know;
-Tell your dragon-fighting stories;
-Share tips on how to fight dragons with all others.
All the things you've posted will finally make up the
GREAT DRAGON ENCYCLOPEDIA (or at least DRAGON SLAYER'S HANDBOOK ).
And what if you are a dragon yourself?! Don't worry - I think there are some Greenpeace members who fight dragon slayers on the HC. Help them by providing as much information about yourself as you can.
All Right Then,
Here We Go,
And Good Luck Everybody!

The hatred! The discrimination! Why, I'm going to go call the ACLU right now, buster! I never hurt anyone unless they hurt me first and I fear for my own life! For the love of sentiency... HOW CAN YOU SLEEP AT NIGHT! For centuries we've been persecuted nearly into oblivion, and here you are to put the final nail in the coffin! WE ARE ENDANGERED!! SHAME on you, have you no decency at all? Do you strangle spotted owls for kicks? No? Maybe you club baby seals for fun? No? Are you sure? What makes it right to club dragons' eggs, then?? We're cute as babies, too, y'know! Or maybe you wouldn't know. Have you ever seen a baby dragon? No? Well, EVER WONDER WHY NOT???
You know, you're just like that George fellow, always rushing in where him and his mighty horse and lance didn't belong. Just ONE dragon gets pissed off with the fact that they're not being offered their fair share of the fat of the land anymore, while the humans take hold everywhere in those stupid little castles of theirs... and holds a princess hostage, and suddenly we're all the bad guys! Nevermind the other cultures that revere us... they're the only reason we're still around!
HUMANS!!!!!! OY! Shame on you, you.... endangered species killer!!!!!

Whereas as you know, generally these Western dragons are traditionally known for being evil and terrorizing peasants and rampaging across the countryside capturing damsels, and eating up all the cattle everywhere...
On the other hand, many Oriental countries hold through mythology, the dragon is the supreme spiritual power, the most ancient emblem and the most ubiquitous motif in Oriental art. They represent celestial and terrestrial power, wisdom and strength. They reside in water, bring wealth and good luck and, in Chinese belief, rainfall for their precious crops. The dragon in traditional Chinese New Year's Day parades is believed to repel evil spirits that would inevitably spoil the new year. The five-clawed dragon became the Chinese Imperial emblem (the four-clawed being the common dragon). The three-clawed dragon is the Japanese dragon. In Hindu mythology, Indra, god of the sky and giver of rain, slays Vitra, Dragon of the Waters, to release rainfall.
Depending on how far you want to go into it, or considering the different variations of mythology that always exist, there are supposedly 9 different types of dragons but I think that would be enough information for now

I've always wanted to make a video game where you were the dragon and you kept getting rudely interrupted in your peasant munching and gold hoarding by wannabee knights and adventuring bands of D&D rejects.
It would kind of be like an action video game where your skill with the keypad/keyboard would determine your outcome. However it would be a strategy game also because if you marauded too much in the same place or you picked the wrong place to find your lunch then you would cause a reaction you aren't prepared for.
You could also develop skills like night flying and pyrotechnic mastery to use in your quest. For extra points you could capture princesses and hold them for ransom. Then the size of the pile of gold on which you slept would determine how quickly you regained your energy after your daily exertions of village burning and adventurer snacking.
I'd put in lots of bone-crunching and gristle-rending sounds also.
