I must know what do you guys say the best XL map would be? and where i can DL it...

The third map (in collaboration with a player who finished ViM in 233 days and with no reloads!) is under way but won't be ready for a few months still. Hopefully it will sway some lost sheep away from the dismal path leading to the abyss of lost hope dubbed heroes 4

yeah, nothing is more fun than running through a random xl map with no challenges anywhere, whole design sux...or with stuff like horde cyklops blocking you day4

Don't have the authors for some of these, but I enjoyed them. You should be able to find them either on Astral Wizard or ToH.
Castle Empire - Great map if you're looking for a challenge; start off one of 2 small islands w/o Mage Guild, once you break through the large stacks of guardian monsters, 2 comp enemies each have 7 castles apiece, also 7 heroes with 30 hydras apiece.
Greece - Interesting melee map since it plays extremely tight. I wasn't a huge fan of it, but the map design warrants a look.
Lone Knight - Good RPG with a well-developed story, provides good replay value with 4 different options for humans.
Old World - Time limit map, but fun to play and explore; highly recommended if you enjoy quests and gathering large armies.
Stupendous Caverns - A personal favorite of mine: great plot, the game itself rolls along smoothly, and the difficulty doesn't require you to be lvl3033099339 and have 3239853 lvl7s to win. Fun map, although not really too much of a challenge.
The Pen and the Sword - A pretty easy map, but the aspect of having 2 heroes going on 2 completely different quests for the beginning portion of the game intruiged me.
