Let's have a football contest!
This is basically the same thing as Sir_Stiven's thread except with the NFL instead. The first week is in only a couple of weeks. Who else is pumped for a fine year of football? Every week a schedule should be posted showing all of the games. Then on Monday Night you choose the team that you think will win and then give the total amount of points scored by each team.
Ex:
Patriots will beat Giants
Eagles will beat Cowboys
Rams will beat Bengles
...
Monday Night Game
49ers beat Broncos - 53 points
The points on Monday Night will be used as a tie breaker for the winner of that week. At the end of the regular season the person who guessed correctly the most times win be the winner of the season.
The games have started, but feel free to join at any time you would like. Just remember that it goes by the person w/ the most correct guesses. So late joiners will have a little difficulty.
Winning teams of Week 1:
San Francisco
N.Y. Jets
Carolina
Chicago
San Diego
Kansas City
Green Bay
Indianapolis
Miami
Tennessee
Washington
Denver
Oakland
New Orleans
Houston
New England - 44
Winning Teams of Week 2:
Jacksonville
Miami
Dallas
Carolina
Tampa Bay
Chicago
Cleveland
New England
New Orleans
Arizona
NY Giants
Buffalo
Oakland
Philadelphia - 44
Winning Teams of Week 3:
Carolina at Minnesota, 1:00 pm
Cleveland at Tennessee, 1:00 pm
Dallas at Philadelphia, 1:00 pm
Indianapolis at Houston, 1:00 pm
Kansas City at New England, 1:00 pm
New Orleans at Chicago, 1:00 pm
N.Y. Jets at Miami, 1:00 pm
Buffalo at Denver, 4:05 pm
San Diego at Arizona, 4:05 pm
Green Bay at Detroit, 4:15 pm
Seattle at N.Y. Giants, 4:15 pm
Washington at San Francisco, 4:15 pm
Cincinnati at Atlanta, 8:30 pm
Monday, Sep. 23:
St. Louis at Tampa Bay - 40 pts. 9:00m
Rankings:
Bort - 28 wins
Nivek - 28 wins
Nebuka - 24 wins
Oldtimer - 27 wins
RedSoxFan3 - 30 wins

Yes, you need to post the sunday games at least 3 days in advance.
Also, be prepared to have mods delete posts from mouthy Euros who have no appreciation for our style of football.

I'm about as pumped as a Panthers fan can be. I'm in, and hell I'll even help post up games if you need it.

It's not that we don't appreciate it it's just that we'd prefer it if it was called American Rugby which it resembles far more.
You will get one "euro" (can I call you lot yanks in that case?) who won't sound off in those posts though and that's me. You want your Rugby posts then fine go ahead and have them. To other members, you want to criticise US footy then do it in another thread and let them have theirs

I'll play. The packers are going to win every single game, even the ones that they're not playing in. Seriously, though, are we starting in the preseason or waiting for the regular season?

Time to take out the trash
To all of you nasties who have deigned to post here for the sole purpose of bashing american football, please take a look at Sir_Stiven's "You think you know football better than me?" thread.
I hope you all notice that us Yanks didn't go into it and bash the heck out of soccer.
Why, you might ask?
Because unlike you, we have class.
Mods, please clean up this tripe.

Bleh, forgot to put up scores.
BTW Nebuka, those are some crazy picks you got there. And there are draws, but they are extremely rare; as in "don't pick draws" rare.

The first week is always the hardest
Just as a little rule. No submitting or editing your picks after the friday before all the games, because the team could announce injuries and those who didn't.
In other cases, I chose Cincinnati, because Drew Brees is the starting QB as of now. They may announce later. That Flutie will be the QB. I can't change my vote after I hear that starting QB's are changed.
