Myths and Legends
i think myths and legends should be in HMM i mean like myths about powerful creatures like Azure Dragons. Like I mean there should be stories behind the creatures like there is behind the game. Some creatures just dont make since like ( Haflings ). Also i think that 3do should use some creatures from legends espically the Yeti ( even though it will be just like Ancient Behemoths) it would still be cool or what about Scylla would be cool to have in the game or Kraken to rule the seas of HMM. These are just ideas but I think that there should be myths and legends in HMM about Creatures certain maps and towns or important heroes tell me what you think

I like that idea, a lot. What I would really like to see is a campaign about Kind Arthur and his Knights. I think that would be cool, fighting gainst dragons and searching for the grail....Why do they have the grial in the game anyway? There is no King Arthur and his Knights to search for it!

How about a more recent creature? I can't spell it right but....how about the Loch-Ness Monster? That would be interesting. Terrorizing the seas....killing boats with no mercy what so ever....Sounds great to me!

Lochness Monster would go great with the diastater idea terrozing the waters and boats controlling the seas. Well there are already Vampires but Draculas would go good. I also like Lady Lillys idea of Theme campaigns with King Aurthur there are so many myths and legends and gods we could use the possibilitys are endless.

A few things....
3 things:
1st: Giving every creature a background history would be not only a lot of work but a lot of space. If they do anything they should add a small encyclopedia (Like AOE2) or give some websites or something.
2nd: Haven't you read Lord of The Rings? Halflings are pretty much like Bilbo and Frodo (midgets).
3rd: I think creatures should not be in the full game, but I think there should be something called myth scenarios. Where you actually have to fight the loch ness monster or Dracula. The creators should actually make special characters for this (because I would be pissed off if they made the loch-ness monster an azure dragon!!!)
That's about it........

I half agree with you Mojo. I think it would be too much to put in all the quests for one game. Maybe an expansion pack with all the myths and legends senarios. On the other hand, maybe it would destroy the purpose of getting an expansion for new units and stuff like that. I doubt 3DO would make as much money on a legends expansion pack than on a regular one. I could be wrong.
Hmm....now I forgot why I disagreed with you just the tiniest bit, Mojo. I take that back; I fully agree with you Mojo.

HALFLINGS have to HOBBITS - (little ones, with little bellys - midgets and you know...)
But I think SIERRA bought all rights to TOLKIEN REALM worlds/books so on. So they are the only one who can use such names from there. I think (but I'm not sure) that HOBBIT as fantasy-term was used only by TOLKIEN (not like elfs or dwarfs - they are found in many other books).
Or maybe I'm wrong? hum... just a thought...
Bad, it's bad that such LICENSES are allowed - so far now only SIERRA can make LOTR/TOLKIEN type of games (and their studios). Booooo!

I don`t think that 3Do will make campaigns or scenarios based on myths and legends. I saw only one map made by 3Do associated with Earth myths ( Pandora`s Box - Restoration of Erathia ), but hopefully there is great mapmakers outside 3Do who are able to do this sort of maps.

THIS IS A FANTASY GAME AND YOU DON'T ADD LEGENDS FROM OUR OWN WORLD INTO THAT GAME.
Legends would be good but it should be Might and Magic legends...Maybe someone from MM 1-5...

I sort of agree with you It really is no logic to having creatures from our age but from the previous versions that have been out the game. I really think there should be something about what happen to the Titans between HMM2 and HMM3 because Titans used to rule the game. Mojo but you must it admit even though it makes no since the Legends in our world would be cool.

Map Editor Changes
Well, in that case, if they won't make a few secenarios like that, then maybe they should improve the map editor so that you can change the name of some artifacts so it could be like excalibur and stuff like that. That is one of the reasons why I don't do it myself. And, maybe the ability to change more than a few random placement objects. I'd like to customize the game more and it would help newbies. If they do that, then they don't need to make secernarios like that, I'll do them myself.

Yeah that would be nice to have a better map editor espically so you can but your own story line behind the scenerio this would feed into the legends. Also about The Excalubur there is a legend behind that to

In the dracula idea, I agree with hsanders. I think dracula should be the upgrade for vampire. D

The vampire would be a good idea since its such a popular subject and in many stories. If they ever made one then it should be a 6th level creature and take out the old vampire since there will only be two six level creatures. It should be for Necro and it should be more creative looking with somekind of devil like look or something but it would be a good idea

Yeah I agree with Incubus. Nosferatu was also used as a upgrade for vampire in MM 8.

Then, maybe instead of chaning the whole system of days and nights, have all those nighttime creatures stay underground. Except...I always think of that second level to be dark and creapy. Some aren't. it's just that you could probably add a few more mythical creautres without changin the whole game.
I don't really like the sudgested system of "Days and Nights". It seems that the only way to have all those werewolves and stuff like that is to have a day and night system. I think that is too much and too complicated. But, if yhere was an underground that isn't too lighty, then this woudl work without all the other complications.
