Ciaphas Cain Defender of the Imperium. Are the books any good? It sounds like something fresh (with the guy actually caring for his own wellbeing unlike the Space Marines that take on entire hive fleets with like 8 men without so much as a moments hesitation). Never bought them though since I'm not much of an Imperial Guard man myself.

I know, Corribus, but I will never lose hope!
The books are entertaining, Azagal. Probably my favorite 40k series. Cain constantly tries to avoid danger and in doing so, manages to find it and gets stuck with a reputation of a great hero that he doesn't want. One nice thing about the series is that it is edited by one of Cain's associates, so you see foot notes here and there which add to the humor. I recommend picking up the Ciaphas Cain: Hero of the Imperium Omnibus for $10.00.

The books are definitely hilarious; a great new perspective on the 40k world. The first four ones, at least, are quite good; I haven't read any after that.
