3DO Conspiracy?
I have been cleanin out old threads on this board. and a couple quotes struck me

I guess I will post here as well... I would say first and foremost I like ToH because of its history.
As long as heroes exists, in whatever form, TOH will be there and not disappear.
All records stay in historical format; you can see your ranking in season I, you can see news that started TOH 2 years ago. Players who had a record summer of '99 can see their win/loss and medals restored and playing again today. Such is the beauty of TOH.
When you go to the rankings page, and see 100s of players with records of 100 or more games, you know that TOH is a piece of homm history.
Vesuvius on tournaments
I expect more tourneys to come along as we get closer to homm4, and even more thereafter. The big question always resides in how long they last. TOH isnt supposed to be a monopoly, and its good to have variety.
With my increased busy schedule and marriage, I have left TOH to its main ranking, and divisions with few subtournaments, staying that way until homm4. More focus is being placed on homm4 right now, with professionals working on the future homm4 automation and such. I do not mind the decreased activity and work.
hey What am I saying? activity is continuing to rise by about 20% a month (judging by #of hits and games reported). Renewed interest from former players and new players finding homm3 in the discount bin.....
I just ask that if you start something, dont quit; there is no point in a ranking or record if you see it disappear in 3 months. (or so I think).

I do agree what many are unhappy about was the way the season was ended. The plug was pulled and the history was lost. things we were told would not happen. Not that it wasnt ves's right to do this, It was his tournament. But It goes against much he has said in the past.
I havnt been knocking H4 like many, It also hurts me to see the way many H4 fans are now dissing people who enjoy Hmm3 still.
Ves has always gotten the flack from unhappy players and it will continue with any tournament he runs I am sure.
I just wonder if 3DO threatened him to shut down H3 if he wanted TOH to be a major piece of H4 multiplayer.
This does sound off the wall probably. but...............

Sorry, just started at the University again, and couldn`t resist this little classic remark.
I agree, that season V was closed unexpectedly. But hell. its like a girl ur kissing who suddenly stop kissing you, and says shes going home. A no is a no. We`ll just have to accept it, and go on.
Perhaps shes willing to put up once more, perhaps she isnt. But well, we had a good time while it lasted, and why regret it?
I mean if we had a good time that is?
Hmmmm.
Ill answer that question for meself.

for me the closure of ToH is:
Ves gives us babies a toy/h to play with.
And he takes the toy/h away from us babies without giving any explanation or notice.
Then he blames us for crying/wanting the toy/h back.

Good thought Zud but since 3do is still at the chalk board drawing up diagrams on how multiplayer should be coded I don't think there is an issue with ToH. In fact, I believe the 3do programming hamsters are stuck at the point where you actually climb onto the wheel and start running....
