quitters in game

Now I am not one to complain very often, but I am getting really frusterated with people who play a game for 4-6 weeks, are losing badly and leave. I have 3 games saved that people left on and I cant find them...WHAH...lol. Does this happen to everyone? Yes, I have the saves, and yes I could report them to honor council, but is it worth a little bit of rank?
What do you all think?

I don't play in TOH, but I know that when I play hotseat and somebody is a thousand times stronger than you, it means that you will never be able to win. And if you can't win, there is no longer any reason to spend a few more hours of play.

Yuup

If they realize they can lose the game anyway they will quit doing it. Every one you report will learn some kind of lesson from it. Even if they just learn how to change their names

I would report them after an email or two requesting a time and date to continue the game.

I, myself quit all my h4 games so far, but not without granting my fellow oppponents victory.  I usually kill myself.

Well, with hotseat your opponent is sitting next to you and not 2000 miles away.  Makes a bit of a difference, one can easily evade your attempts to continue an online MP game, of course that player has no honor.

Strongly recommended

That you dispute games vs quitters in format as posted on unreported winloss section.

Better that their record show their reduced honor rating and their history recorded in that way for other weary players.  Also, if they reregister maybe they learn from their mistake, if they do not, eventually they run out of IP's and accounts and wont be able to play again.

as a side note

I have worked on it, I was mainly curious as how other people thought about it, and how it actually worked as a whole. TY all for your advice. I did get a hold of 1 of 6 people lol. 3 people's e-mail addresses are now invalid. It is always wise advice to have the rules of the game inforced.

I have been lucky this season and I havent had any quitters. Last season though I probably played 20 games that people quit on  me. Most of them I never seen again, and some of them would never schedule a time to replay if I was winning the game. I wont mention any names but I refuse to play them again.

quitting

Even if you give your opponent the victory,I feel it is a lousy thing to do.Only slightly better then leaving and refusing to report.I do not play for points,I play because I enjoy the game.Nothing is more irritating to me than building up for 3 months, and then be denied the pleasure of trampling my opponents armies into the dust.

True.. but also nothing more boring than having to play for another 3 or 4 weeks of game time, knowing that you have NO CHANCE IN HELL of winning

It is up to the losing opponent to concied, it should not be up to the winner.
We dont know if they are in trouble but with communication is important so we will know whats going on.
I for one wont have my opponent play a blocked or any kind of games but if they feel they cant win just tell me whats going on.

& for Bob I know the feeling when I first really started playing I had already 2 players who wouldnt finish I still remember their names too & one was a big problem for  alot of other player  then it just built then i had 10 droppers in a month then in 6 months over 30-50 droppers.
Then a little after season 4 ended I am fed up & droppers are only 1 of many thangs & I am a fair reasonable player who you can reason like if we were friends even in a finals in a sub Tourney lol.
SInce all time I been playing I never changed one bit of how I treat another player but regardless of all the swearing & cheating & drops I experienced I still was able to keep going I saw many quit heroes all togwther online playing from bad experiences.

DOnt worry 2 is not that bad Bob I played a HOS my first time playing TOH with a player on very top of the list.
My first experience & 2 losses one from asking a restart on sec week & his excuse was because he was doing porly when I was rocking & sec game in a row we had he said no 4th lv heroes but he bought SOl anyways so I had to sac most my army to get recanters only to run into him with no army 7 loss.
I was pissed but it happens.
Point is that there are manmy of those kind of players out there 7 sometimes best just to play who you know or reckomended because if you want to take chances you may end up how I did but then again I remember I was out there new &  no one would play it took months for me to get good games going.

If you try to contact your opponent but the email address that they have listed in their player profile turns out to be invalid please let us know.

We disable these accounts until we hear from them.

The email addresses players list in their profiles must be valid or we (and other players) have no way to contact them and handle disputes.

If they care enough to have their accounts reinstated, they will contact us to find out why it was disabled.

It's an extreme step, but email addresses are that important.
