heheh, bob, don't spoil [aa]flipmo[ro]'s fun ... he is the "only necro and maps i know" kind of guy ... like there's anything "decent" in playing necro and making vampires the 2nd day and bone dragons the 5th maybe 6th, really tough to play , but then again, like bob said necro don't get to choose their castles so that will be a little balancing, i guess !
I have bothered u guys enough now, i will go

necro is part of homm4
necro upgrades significantly weaker than all other philo upgrades. And as I know already, there are people making 'no vampire' rules in games lol.
Remember that when a clan war initiates between two leaders, they can negotiate any form of rules for their clangames as they want... so 'no vampire' rule can be one of them.
necro aint that 'tough' though....
yes, necroma specialty can choose necro town, thats the whole point lol.
its the demonic that does not choose necro town.

* Necro is part of the game *
Hia all
It sure is, but we some still remember last clans !!
And I think it is a good thing to *downgrade* necro from *day1* otherwise they would be to darn hard to catch up with, specially on a rich map. pssssst you tried necro on ( lol ) wiz's remake of NvS ? completely a waste of time. You can have two towns in week 1 and build Wamps in both of em ( if your lucky to get dual castle )
So making necroma slightly weaker from starters is 100 % okie doke with me
I am sure they will be full anyhows

Somebody read a book or two out of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series.
I'm curious to know about that map ... where it came from, who made it, how it was made. It's beautiful.

I made the map...
And ive read all the wheel of time series, waiting for book 10. Just started rereading book 1 again lol.
The map was made by amalgamating satelite imagery of various lands then meshing them together with microsoft photodraw and photoshop. It took several days to do.
I wanted to make a real looking land, not a drawn out one.

Well, it's fabulous, and very realistic.
BTW, I got through book 8, and half way through book 9 before putting the series down. When Mazrim Taim turned out to be a bad guy ... what can I say. I was disgusted. I liked the guy.

Quote: Necro clans will be strong....but only if you can find games. I think you will have a hard time finding matches with others
Maybe you'r right...i think you'r far more experienced than me. But i'll take the risk. Imo the ppl will first look at the names of the opponents and second to the race...maybe i'm wrong, but that's mo. Imo order or necro is the same thing. Advantages and disadvantages. Both are very strong. Not to mention that EVERYONE stand a chance. Wards, artifacts, mechanical units, elementals, gm combat+gm melee...I don't think vampires are too strong...maybe necromancy.

Hmm, listening to this kind of discussion makes me try harder to improve my gameplay. I've already told ya,the vampire is not the ultimate creature. Some ppl thinks playing necro it's some kind of cheat or something. Maybe on next patch 3DO will make the vamp with 15 def/15 att, 50 life and if still it's too strong the they'll take away the life draining ability

Yes, lol. I'll play an order clan with this rule...only one thing...with the no genie' rule...

Well i was planning ok making (probably joining) a necro clan, 'cause they are my fav in everysingle game! all the heroes series, dark omen, blood kicks ass. and disciples 2. so i'm a big necro fan. But i was also very interested in some of the angelic bonuses... their quite attractive...
But either way, i will only start playing heavy when they hopefully bring out a patch for the transfer problems. because i just don't have the time to wait this long to play a game... Me and my friend (he lives about 10 mintues away) tried to play a game, we did finally finish it, but it took about 2 hours for 3 weeks of play. LIKE OMG! I am on cable and he is on bell's high speed dsl... and wholy snow, i don't know how you 56k 'ers can do it.....
So bottom line, I think alot of people like me will be waiting for a patch to kill that insane problem...
Best regards for those who decide to play!

I really luv it how everybody thinks what THEY beleive is correct, which town, clan is strongest etc..
No,i'm not being ironic here,it is great you have faith on your choices,,what a fight would have been if you beleived your clan choice sucks..?

All opinions are subjective and everyone has a right to express their opinions.
Now about the clans, lets compare the metalurgy bonus to all fixed town bonuses.
1. The metalurgy clans starts with a good artie that can help from day 1.
2. Since its a random town it can be anything including the opposing town. In that case you have a clear advantage from day 1.
3. The fact that you know your opponent's town, but they don't know yours is a BIG advantage for you from day 1.
4. You can negotiate map and settings for a war that are unfavorable for the other clan. It's more dificult for them to do so since you have a random town.
Of course, in order to use all these advantages you have to be proficient with all towns.
