New GAME 2 --> Make D&D characters for your handles! =)
Hi there.
Iīm CONTINUING a new game, a sort of D&D campaign on the HC (the suggested continue title sucked ). If you want in, itīs time to create your D&D character now.
If you want to know the story so far, check out the first thread and read up
Rules are easy: In most ways, itīs the same as in Neverwinter Nights, without the most advanced stuff of course. When I dice needs to be thrown, Bjorn190 or a Dungeon Master Class appointed member makes the throw and posts the results
In a way, we all can be Dungeon masters, but in order to limit N00b crazyness and spam, There are 3 levels of decisionmaking.
1. Everyone can add to the storyline.
2. Dungeon Master Class players can spawn monsters that are Dragon class, and treasure and rewards, anything except the most Epic stuff.
3. Bjorn190 can do God events, Fabulous relic treasures, and rewards, and the events created can result in the death of a player character.
This is to ensure a good game, thatīs still the sum or all our imagination
there are 6 stats I believe.. Strength, Constitution, Dexterity, Wisdom, Intelligence and Charisma. Max you can put on a stat is 18, the least is 3. For certain classes there are other limits too. And racial bonuses are added when you ahve set all the points. We donīt roll stats like in NWN, but you get 84 points to use on the stats.
Hints: DONT take 3 on any value. Even charisma will help you to decide how well you interact. Beefing up a warr with 18 str 18 dex and 18 cons is gonna cost you on the other stats..
You Start out with one magical item, like a +1 sword or shield, or a magic amulet that adds 1 to AC.
For warriors, you get a standard weapon, and if its 1H, you get a shield. Nothing fancy, just regular stuff. You also get a full leather armour.
For mages, you get a robe, and a staff, and a spellbook with all level 1 spells. Each time you gain access to a new spell level, you get 4 spells of choice for that level. The rest you have to find through finding scrolls.
You start out with 100 gold coins.
The rules for battle are complicated, but warrs have to select weapon proficiances, and upgrade them as they level up. 1H swords, 2H words, 1H blunt, 2H blunt, Bows, Crossbows&slings, and Piercing weapons
Remember, this isnt pure D&D, its less complicated, and modified to be fast and easy
Ok thats it for now I guess.. if u wanna create a character, it has to have the same name as your HC nick and be added to this thread before the campaign starts. If you create it after the campaing starts, you will fall behind some and not be as powerful from the start as the original pre-campaing characters.
Now go create!
We begin in a few days, or when we have enough chars. Also, if you want to be DM class, report your interest in this thread. GL and hf

sure it feels like the end.. and maybe it is, but letīs hope not.
Recap:
"We are in a sewer, trying to save our friend AP from the wizard that has taken him prisoner. Then we have to somehow find the Jade Monkey, mayhaps doing a bunch of sidequests on the way"

we should ask tuapui if "the mage can be holding it to tap its power" That would be a good spiff for defeating the mage.
btw, does the mage count as a quest? And... do we have to talk to him first? (That was one of the rules about NPC's) Or have we considered him to have already talked to the party?

Umm...Well it is more like a quest that is slammed in your face and you have no choice. Takes highest priority because it includes a party member, and you should handle it the way you think you should handle it best. In RPG games they'll give you limited choices. In here you have unlimited. You, of course have to balance the odds, and not just rush in and kill a mage capable of capturing the most powerful member of the party.
By the way Bjorn, you gonna eat those donuts on the floor? I heard Nidhgrin will bring more from the mod HQ, but that's later. Don't waste see.
And no the games is not over yet! You have yet to find the true power buried within yourself. And *hint* I have started with Athimus
EDIT:Where did everyone go? HEY! THIS GAME IS NOT OVER YET!!!

Three questions:
-Will the RPG be played in this thread?
-Do I have the right to spawn a hobgoblin?
-Do I have to read the whole story to play, or can I start now, having just thrown an eye on the preceeding story?
If the answeres to my two last questions are respectively "yes you can", and "no you don't have to read it", then you can count me in the players.

I would at least read the first page of the first thread and then read back to the part about the basilisk. (This is a few pages back from the end)
Reading the entire story is not necessary. Maybe we should try to summarize the events by page.
Ex:
Thread 2, Page 1:
Discussing how to defeat the mage.
Thread 1, Page28:
Party arrive in town and splits up to check out the local businesses. Athimus is captured by a powerful mage. They case the mage into the sewers...
That would be perfect to summarize what happened. This would make it easier to remember what we are trying to do. A list of current quests and explainations of them would be nice too. I can't remember why we even need the jade monkey. Wasn't it required to get out of the cavern?
Anyway. I like the idea of someone going around to make a bunch of noise to draw the mage around the circular sewer system. Then we can free Athimus. This will help us greatly at fighting the mage. A stronger spell like lightning bolt would work pretty well too. I don't have any level 3 spells. Athimus is the only one and he has fireball, but that will torch everyone in the area
Wait a minute. That's it!
We will start off by having tuapui (who should be quite magic-resistant now) distract the mage while the rest of us free Athimus. We will also need to set a trap which will cover the mage in napom. Athimus casts fireball on him after he is covered. This will torch the mage. The napom will keep our victim on fire well after the spell has died down. After the fire is clear we rush the mage and start hacking away at him. Because he is on fire he will be very disoriented. I doubt he will be able to focus well enough to cast any of his high level spells.

Quote: I can't remember why we even need the jade monkey. Wasn't it required to get out of the cavern?.
Well.. youīre almost right.
The jade monkey wasnīt neccessary to get out of the cave..
it is, however, neccessary to stop the destruction of the entire world as we know it.
Without the Jade monkey, an inter-dimentional gateway will open and let in the forces of Chaos on the relatively peaceful world we live in. There will be no fighting back. What good are a thousand knights against ten thousand demon lords? And a few Demon Princes. If we are lucky, the Demon King will not enter our world until we are already dead..
So thatīs why we need the jade monkey. Kinda..

If you're done with ur plans and objections right now you are standing at the dor leading into the mage's chambers, andtime is running short. How will you know if Athimus is not already dead, or he is too stunned to cast spells? *hint* well then I should stop giving hints and start being very very unpredictable. That's how the world is, for all you know the door might even be trapped and cause everyone to drop dead even as you carry out your plan, and open the door.
Shadow_Elf:
"Hold! Tis' a trapp! *points at a thin wire catch on the doorknob* be careful.....done! *removes the trap*
TuApUi:
"Hey I'm not bait you knoes. *flutters around* get someone else to do the dirty job for youse. *cross claws and blows smoke*
Athimus:
"ARGHGHHHHHHHH!!!"
Bjorn:
"Quick! We have no more time! Quick think of a plan! I fear that Athimus may be already too weakened to help in Redsox's Plan! You will have to fill in his place Red, you are the only mage now."
*Just then, the door springs open in a gust of magic*
Hughin:
"Alas! I could hear your....rambliings from inside. It was quite a spectacle. I believe you are his....friends? Now then you would'nt be so stupid to fight me for him will you? Look at your friend! He's dead~~~~"
Just then everyone notices that on a altar is Athimus Phaeni, but a skeleton with only the skin clinging to the bones. He has been absorbed of power, and nothing can revive him.....
RedSoxFan:
"NOOOOOOOOO! You BASTARRDDD!!" *casts chromatic Orb*
Chromatic orb has no effect
Hughin:
"You fool! You think you can defeat me so easily??" *casts unknown spell which shoots out a blue ray and hits RedSoXFan in the chest, which makes him bend over.*
RedSoxFan:
"No! What have you done to me??"
Hughin:
"You will die! Slowly but surely, and your power will ad to mine ahahahaha!"
Martigan:
"Enough with your foul chatter CHAARRRRGE!"
Everyone charges at the mage.....
All of a sudden everyone finds themselves standing in a room, with swirling colours and and everything seems out of proportion. In the corner there is a door, and there stands Athimus Phaeni, as an undead, staring forwards into oblivion, and slowly moving towards the party, repeatedly mumbling, "You came too late....you came too late....."

I think Tuapui is making this game impossible. How are we supposed to play now? Athimus is dead and there is no possible way of defeating this mage. Why don't we just leave. Athimus can make a new character. I'm just glad that the DM can decide our actions for us. I also like that part about how I will die slowly. Thanks. Bjorn, you need to take over. This is no longer any fun. I don't like the DM determining my actions, which causes me to be killed. I will not play if this is going to happen. I can determine my own actions.
At one time, this was the only thread I would ever play. I don't know what "plans" the DM's have, but they should at least make it fun along the way. Why do you like killing us? Under the current system, no matter what we do, you have already predetermined what the outcome is. I don't think that is quite fair.

Ok fine im sorry i havent been posting properly okay? And im so damn sorry that im so damn wide minded, maybe to wide minded and have too high expectations. Lemme tell you this, it is all supposed to be an illusion, and Athimus is NOT dead!!! Do you think I am a snow DM? Do you think I lied about being a DM before?
Everything is supposed to be judged by your actions, and nobody has been making any ACTIOns. So I had to step in, and even more so is that many actions Are created by DM.... So sue me for making your game suck, when all I intended to do was throw you all deeper into DUngeons and Dragons.
Now that my intentions is laid out plain and simple, hope you all have a good time with new gameplay.

Lets put this game to work again...
*The party notices that it is only a illusion, get mad, kill the wizard, free Athimus, that doesnt show the gratitude for the members who risked his lifes to save him. Then the party leave the town and go, again, to search for the Jade Monkey...

Sorry, Tuapui. I was a little reactionary with that post like many of my posts.
I now realize the ingenious of your plan. You had already given us the clue that he was an illusionist, but I am confused as to why you had the mage give me that "slow death" spell. That is what made me upset the most. Although I would prefer that you guide a little more in those situations rather than dictate what happens, because I wouldn't have done several of the things that you mentioned. And as for him hearing us, I assumed that we were whispering very quietly away from the mage's lair. He shouldn't have heard anything that we were discussing.
I still want to play, but it felt like I wasn't playing the game anymore and you were playing it for me. I'm not sure how often I will be able to post anymore just as Athimus isn't sure, so if I don't post for a couple days I won't be upset if you dictate what I do then.
So... I am still going to die? and Athimus says that we killed the mage. That seemed kind of simple. So what now? Does Bjorn come by and say *ding*?

For one, im not "Tupai" , for two, please tolerate with me.
What is this? Some Sort of a Joke?
The whirling colours once again bring the party to an unknown place, part of the string of events that has unfolded around each one of you, an illusion of such deep density. However, it is not enough to throw you into confusion.
MadMartigan:
"Stop this Madness Mage! Your illusions will not last forever!"
The whirling colours stop suddenly, fading to a pitch black. Two distant red lights appear, and moves towards the party. It becomes brighter and brighter, and then a blinding flash, forcing everyone to wince. And again, a setting. There are children playing, and there are elves singing to the children. There is laughter and happiness, and then....
"ARGGGHHHHaahahahahhhh........."
Everything seems to fade...and the room where you left it appears again. The mage is dead, on the floor. There is blood. A dagger is driven deep into his chest, from behind. Instinctively you look towards the doorway behind him. Athimus Phaeni, exhausted from the effort, lies on the floor.
