Quote: AS for monks and ogre magi, I think you underrate them. Especially the monks, they are very good, even in endfights. So do the Ogre Magi, though they are slow. But once I teleport them in, you are in trouble.
I agree that monks are tough, but ogre magi are probably the least fearsome third-level creature. I don't see how you'd come up with a way to teleport them very often. Even if you found an Order town, hired a mage and built him up so he could both learn teleport and survive long enough to cast it, you're not guaranteed to get the spell you want. Or, vice versa, if you started with Order and took a Stronghold, you'd be better off hiring a Barbarian to lead them and avoid the morale penalty. And even if you did combine a spellcaster with might troops, I think you'd be better off going with cyclopses and teleporting attackers away from them into a nice multiple target.

Of course I'll have teleport. As Might, I go for order magic - even if I have Cylopes, for then precision is just great.
Well, who heard about playing might without magic heroes?
If you play so and you cannot rush or rush is stopped, game is over.

You can go for order all you want, you might get it, although it's by no means guaranteed that there will be an order city on most maps. Even if there is, there's no "of course" about getting the teleport spell. Even if you do manage it, you're still better off with cyclopes.
If you have some compelling reasoning that you're holding in reserve, now might be a good time to use it.

You do not need an order city to have order spells. If the map is suitable, I mean.
If map is built up well, you'll have access to libraries, universities, shrines and the place you get parchments/scrolls from.
I agree you can be better off with cyclopes in a lot of situations. But not in all. If Ogre Magi get there, they do much more damage.
Else you have to rush.
Now if you rush, Ogre Magi can be better, it can cast bloodlust on your mighty hero.

I like something connected with alchemistry or elfs. I really liked Rampart in H3.
By the way, why they moved centaurs to Might town. They live in forests not in mountains.

ORDER ROCKS ARSE!!!!!!!!
ORDER, for three reasons
1. kick arse creatures. Titans are kickarse, they are the only lvl 4 ranged creature and have no melee penalty. They are extra sweet with precision (no range/obstacle penalty and +25% damage). Genies are also kickarse because of direct damage spell ice bolt and create illusion (or somthing like it) they are the best genie spells. Spells rule against ranged units, even on those annoying towers.
Also Halflings are good.
2. Best spells. Forgetfulness is my most important spell in a seige. I use that then wipe out the ranged units with titans, genies and halflings. Also teleport is good, hypnotise is brilliant (hypnotise a large stack of lvl 4 creatures and wreak havoc, good stuff!) And some direct damage as well, and countless other good spells.
3. The bloody treasury. This structure is underrated. It has been upgraded since HOMMIII where in the rampart you only got 10% interest per week, in HOMM4 you get 10% every day. If you have 10,000 gold then the next day you will have 11,000 gold. The next day you will have 12,100, then 13,310 then 14641 then 16105 then 17715 then 19487, in heroes 3 in this time you will only have 11,000. Think about it. If you get enough money, you end up earning more than you can spend.

Definetly Necropolis.
My lineup usually consists of the 2 levels ones cerberi and venom spawn. I immediately try and up my Necromancy skill until I have a fair amount of ghosts. Usually 100 or so will do. Then I get Grandmaster Necromancy as soon as possible and start raising Vamps!! Then you get rid of pesky imps in the undead transformer and get LOADS of em and you're left with Skellies, Cerberi, Ghosts, Spawns and Vamps. I usually choose the Bone Dragons due to the skeletal special.
Demonologists can be deadly to fight with this lineup, summoning Devils who in turn Ice demons and you have potentially 9 stacks of creatures to play with!!
Shadow Mages with Phantom Image on their Venom Spawn or Dragons can be scary too.
Plus Necro towns have order And chaos magic skools as well for tactics and damage dealing.
What more could you want?!

Right, Asmodean. Death is the only sure thing beside taxes and you can't play taxman in HOMM, so necro it is. But with your lineup, one thing is severely lacking. It is the thing that is in fact the major advantage of Death. It is SPEED. Dragging along the venom spawns and skeletons make sure that when you get to those mighty guardians of cool artifacts then someone has already been there, killed them, and taken those. While an army composed only of imps, ghosts, vampires and devils/boners, possibly also accompanied by a GM pathfinding sidekick hero can move so fast it basically does twice the work in one day.

Titans are not the only ones: gargantuans
BTW, CHAOS rulez!
Chaos is the town that has the most direct damage spells which is really good thing. Also, it has great creatures: nightmare (terror), medusa (stone gaze), hydra (unstoppable with cat reflexes), etc. I think Chaos is the best.
My top:
1. Asylum (chaos)
2. Necropolis (death)
3. Stronghold (might)
4. Academy (order)
5. Preserve (nature)
6. Haven (life)
I know you think these are n00b's choices, but they aren't. Most of us, choose Chaos and Death as the best.

Yes.
Gargantuan is a Level 4, Nature-aligned creature. The stats are:
Damage: 28-40
Hit Points: 300
Attack: 32
Defense: 32
Move: 7
Speed: 4
Shots: 16
Special Abilities: Ranged Attack, Shoots twice, Ranged Area Attack, and No Melee Penalty
Weekly Growth: 2
Cost: 4000 gold + 2 Crystal
It is a very strong one, he throws something like a cyclope's boulder twice! And he's tought at melee too!
(Damn, I don't like to face those )
Here it is:
Maybe the pic is not very good, but that's the best I found

You don't need to pick on him, some of us do't know english that better. Or it's a spelling mistake. You should count yours before making such affirmations.
