well all here is soem small things that i have found while playing homm4 that i thought might help people... maybe some things people dont know.
*****if you are not able to host or join a game in GS, you need to do the following if you have windows ME goto the control panel, then to network settings ... and there is a button half way down that says file and printer sharing. click on this and check "i want to allow others access to my files" ... ready to go. ( i diable this when not playing and would recoment it to others as well.
WHEN YOU ARE NOT THE HOST THE FOLLOWING THINGS NEED TO BE KNOWN::
***** After the host clicks on launch, let the intro movie play REASON:: there is a timer for the person joining to find the hosts game. If the hosts computer isn't as fast, and doesn't load homm4 quick enough, and they cant find the map or save right away...you will get the message "failure to connect"
***** Once in the game make sure you both agree on the game settings BEFORE clicking ready.
***** When you are in the game and a message appears "waiting for host or computer player" then you cannot do anything do not fear this is a good thing. your opponant is being attacked by mobile guards =O)
IF YOU ARE THE HOST:::
***** if you are a honorable player you should allow your opponant to choose his/her color...you have the advantage of going first give them the advantage of color choice is my opinion
***** let your opponant know when it is sent or you are done, you have the bar on your creatures forewarning you he doesn't. (i always forget myself but it is courteous)
***** save the game (if you are having connectivity probs) at the end of your turn.
I hope these things are usefull to at least 1 person, if not just consider it me rambling on and on and on ... again lol
