Wish for Heroes V - more distinguished hero classes!
I think that the hero classes of H4 were redundant and anemic. The advanced classes didn't provided anything new and spicy as expected. So what I wish for is going back to the system of H3 with two heroes, might & magic one, and eliminating the advanced classes as we know them now. The heroes should be made distinguished and original in several areas:
1. The looks
In H3 there were many similar looking hero classes in terms of visual appearance. Here I want the game to go towards the H2 way, when heroes on the battlefield and the map looked really different from each other.
Also I don't see why there is always one hero model representing all the races. I mean we have Lord Human Hero that is representing the Dwarves and the Halflings. Or Mage Human hero that is representing the Genies as well. I wish that they make race model for every class. Or if this is impossible from time-consuming reasons, then to make the classes race-specific. All Paladins will be made human males. All Wizards human-males. All Rangers Elf males. All Sorceresses Elf females. All Lords Dwarven males. This way the heroes will look the same on the portrait and on the battlefield. And this is important for the illusion that the game creates in order to suck us into it's world.
2. The Skills
I think that each hero class should get unique skills. This way they will look different from the other hero classes, no matter the primary and secondary skills they have. Special powers can be Blessings and Prayers for Clerics and Paladins, Offensive spells for Warlocks, Illusion spells for Wizards etc. The special powers should be skills/spells that can't be acquired any other way.
3. Customization trough advanced classes
I think that the advanced classes should be present but in another form that is class unique. When hero reaches certain level he not only gets special powers but also advances in his class changing his title. This way the Paladin when reaches level 20 can become Divine Paladin, Lord will become Warlord, Wizard - High Wizard etc.
The towns and the Hero classes:
Life town:
Might hero - Paladin > Divine Paladin
Magic hero - Cleric > High Cleric
Order town:
Might hero - Lord > Royal Lord
Magic hero - Wizard > Arch Wizard
Death town:
Might hero - Count > Death Count
Magic hero - Necromancer > Death Necromancer
Chaos town:
Might hero - Warlord > Great Warlord
Magic hero - Warlock > Demonic Warlock
Nature town:
Might hero: Ranger > Warden Ranger
Magic hero: Sorceress > Holy Sorceress
Might town:
Might hero - Barbarian > Chieftan Barbarian
Magic hero - Mage > Battle Mage
When hero becomes advanced class he should change the look and become more powerful, noble, greater, in terms of appearance. This can be achieved with new skin-paintin of the original hero model and doesn’t require new animation model.
