Map ratings

As to eliminate confusion of the 0-4 point system for map ratings, all ratings are calculated in % now.  It may be easier to read or understand.  

The way I see it, a map player rated 70% or higher is pretty damned good.

By the way, my map (fallen bridge) is rated lowest at 36%

49 maps listed now, once we hit 50, the 'unlisted map' option will be removed, and maps played in ToH will need to be from the maps page.  We are always looking for more good maps though.

my 2 cents...

I love the new ratings and given time they well reflect supremely accurate ratings between the 2.

We have several maps in review and it looks to me like we will be accepting a few of them from the sounds of it. Others still need a bit of work yet.

Hmm, well, what not to like is the extremely tough guardians seperating the territories.  Map would be better with lesser guardians.  Games on that map last way to long as it is.

uhmmm...

who plays zanfas' challenge??? i see it has a 1.6 popularity rating, that's pretty high! i don't think that many people have played it. think about the lag with 4 AI's!!! im not even thinking about a 6-player ffa.

i think 'A.I lag' is a myth,japjer
..created by overlong transfers where it shows as cpu playing
..same,at 1on1,it shows as opponent playing.
But,in both cases its just sending..
and sending,and waiting,and..

I do believe you're right, but the belief in it is widespread, and I don't think it's going to go away...

No, but that's wrong.  

If you have a 1on1 game, it goes fast (or faster, if you still consider that slow).  Add a computer player, and it goes MUCH, MUCH slower.  This is no myth.  Whether it is the computer taking a long time, or the extra data taking much longer to transfer for some reason, it doesnt matter.  All we know is that with computer player(s) it takes significantly longer than if it is just 1v1.

Test it if you are in doubt.  You will, with pain, find your answer

ugh, entire post not posted...

well, what i meant, was, i haven't met ANY people who played zanfas' challenge, also few people who liked large maps (or had the time for it), so i think it's weird for it to have a 1.6 rating...

i like zanfras myself, if you want to you are more than welcome to refine it down to 2 player. I started but I dont have the time right now, I have several projects that I consider moer important.

in the future

when i get the chance, I plan to make the popularity rating in actual number of games by 10's, so you will know in exact numbers how many games have been played on each map.

Whether there is an AI player or not is optional.

Map Makers should make scripts that allows the termination of AI player(s) if players want so.

For example: There is a map that has three players (Red, Blue and Green).

AI Setup (Day 1 Timed Event):
If Red Player is Human then Set Human_Players to Human_Players +1
If Blue Player is Human then Set Human_Players to Human_Players +1
If Green Player is Human then Set Human_Players to Human_Players +1
If Human_Players = 2 then Ask "Do you want to remove AI player from the map?", if Yes then Trigger Custom Event Named Remove AI
Remove Script.

Remove AI (Triggerable Event in Red's town, run only if the owner isn't human):
Combat (1000 Titans)
Change Owner to No Player
Red Player Loses

Remove AI (Triggerable Event in Red's army run only if the owner isn't human):
Combat (1000 Titans)

Green and Blue player will have also those triggerable events.

I've given this tip half a year ago. Now people only has to learn to use it.

But, is not the Large guardians typical of a "closed" map?  Generally these maps are similar to race maps in which it is basically a race to conquer these large guardians first and survive for the bounty collecting....then basically you are well endowed enough at that point to crush your enemy with little effort.
